Does this "trick" work to unshrink a dress shirt?

I made the rookie mistake of putting a couple dress shirts in the dryer and they ended up shrinking a little...

I was wondering if this trick would help relax the fibers and bring them back to their original state?

I would doubt it, frankly. But if your shirts are otherwise ruined, what do you have to lose? Try it and report back.

this might work with a knit like a t shirt
i doubt it will work with a woven shirt

you can pull a bit when the shirt is wet,, but you won't get much.

I have better success with dress shirts by washing them in cold, letting the washer spin dry them and then ironing and stretching them, while they're still wet from the wash. Each shirt is different, but depending on how much they shrank, you may have some luck.
