Adding darts to a suit jacket

I recently purchased a sack blazer and I'm not super happy with the silhouette, I'm thinking adding darts to it would help but I can't really find any pictures of jackets that have had darts added by a tailor.

Has anyone had this done successfully and have a few pictures of the finished product? Befores as well would be amazing!

This is a crosspost from the tailor thread to maybe get a bit more detail.

I recently brought this jacket to a tailor a friend recommended asking about tightness in the shoulders and slimming the waist and he told me the jacket was a perfect fit and he wouldn't change a thing.

I've since tacken the tags off and worn it around a bit and returning is no longer an option. I now realize that the jacket is a sack blazer and designed to be a little less form fitting, I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to the style I'm looking for. Something more similar to the way this jacket fits.

I think the button stance is a bit high on the jacket and there is nothing I can do about that, but I like the fabric and soft shoulders a lot and would like to get it to work for me. I think the shoulders are a little small and again not sure there is much I can do about that but I really don't like the boxy silhouette or the way the front quarters are folded over in Y. I like a bit of an opening.

I'm wondering if adding darts is the best way to address this but I've read without the extra fabric to replace the pocket welts its not nearly as functional as a jacket with darts designed to be in it because you have to end it much shorter. Also there's a small collar roll I believe that extends to the shoulder sometimes creating a bump mid shoulder, is this from the shoulders being a little snug?

first, you are not wearing a sack suit.
the jacket has front darts.

the fit is a lot better then most of the clothing posted on styleforum

just have the tailor take in the side seams a bit.
that will do the trick.

you can not add darts to a jacket.

also in the photo from the back.
what do you have in your pocket that is making the jacket pull?
a large wallet?

the button stance is fine.

Thanks for the reply!

I think I see what you're seeing in the picture but there aren't front darts on the jacket

It's this jacket http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Cambridge-Fit-Blazer/MM00108,default,pd.html

Yeah I think that's just my wallet bulging out the pocket there. Honestly I wasn't really sure what was happening but now that you mention it, it is a little bulky.

Okay I'll just take it in and have it slimmed from the sides. I am heading back to the tailor today to pick a few things up and noticed on his website that adding darts to a jacket was ~50 so I was considering it but if it's mostly just aesthetic I won't bother.
