WHO IS CRAFTSMAN CLOTHING?

Craftsman Clothing started in the early year of 2015 by three ambitious Hongkies who are menswear fanatics. We met on a local forum about ten years ago and have built a lasting friendship since based on shared passion in menswear.

From experiences, we noticed trends come and go and there is certainly a price to pay if you want to be “fashionable”. Over the past years, however, the fashion landscape has changed with the invasion of fast-fashion companies. They allow consumers to catch up with the latest trends at an affordable price. But of course, you get what you pay for and the quality is far from sublime.

Craftsman Clothing has a different curation philosophy, we believe in quality, long lasting yet affordable classic pieces. As our debut collection, we are offering some classic flight leather jackets that are put together with top notch raw materials such as exotic leathers from either Spain or Italy, smooth Italian RiRi zippers, authentic horn buttons and comfortable bemberg linings by our experienced artisans.

Our whole process from designing, choosing material, cutting and sewing, patternmaking, producing, doing quality checks to packaging are all done in Hong Kong. We take pride in the craftsmanship of our experienced artisans hence we chose Craftsman Clothing as our brand name.

We believe luxury is defined by the time you spend on designing and manufacturing a well-crafted product and the expert hands behind it; thus our goal is to provide our customers who have a strong character, pays attention to details and craves for his own style identity, “affordable luxury.”

Customers are also able to have embroidery options on their jacket lining; be it your name, initials or even a inspiring quote, not only will this make your jacket unique but personal, a discreet secret that belongs to you.

Hollywood: The Hollywood model is the “A-2” flying jacket, it was standardized by the U.S. Army Air Corps as the successor to the Type A-1 flying jacket adopted in 1927. The Type Designation Sheet lists the dates for Service Test as September 20, 1930, and Standardized (adopted as standard issue) on May 9, 1931. Broadly similar in construction to the A-1, it replaced the A-1's buttoned front and pocket flaps with a zipper and hidden snap fasteners (although some very early A-2's retained the pocket buttons). The A-1's stand-up knitted collar, which buttoned closed, was supplanted in the A-2 by a shirt-style leather collar, with hidden snaps at the points and a hook-and-eye latch at the throat. Stitched-down shoulder straps were also added to the design.

  • Snap-flap patch pockets with extra slanted pockets as warmer compartments

  • Shirt-style snap-down collar

  • Shoulder straps

  • Knit cuffs and waistband

  • Back constructed from a single piece of leather to limit stress on the garment

  • Bemberg lining with a leather hang strap

Lambskin: Navy / Black / Olive Brown / Bordeaux / Brown = 900USD

Suede: Navy / Snuff / Chocolate Brown / Olive Green = 830USD

*A sample is being made and picture will be available soon!

Nathan: Our Nathan model is the "G-1" military flight jacket, it remains a current uniform-issue item in naval aviation for officer and enlisted aviation personnel on flying status in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard.

  • Fur collar (Option to choose a removable collar style)

  • By-Swing Back for easier arm movement

  • Buttons on front patch pockets with extra slanted pockets as warmer compartments

  • Knit cuffs and waistband

  • Bemberg lining with a leather hang strap

Lambskin: Navy / Black / Olive Brown / Bordeaux / Brown = 950USD

                    Midnight Navy / Noir / Oak = 880USD

Fur Color: Noir / Dark Brown / White / Brick Red

Welcome. That suede A1 looks very nice!

Seems like great jackets! Can't wait to see the A2 sample
post #4 of 311
This is excellent....

Do you provide a physical store for professional measurements?

I am interested in A1, but

Measurement is tricky and very depend on how you want your jacket fit.

I noticed young guys tend to wear A2 very short and tight for example.

Can you provide your garments measurement for each measurement points listed above for each size?

Possible for us Hong Kongers to try on sizes or do MTM fittings?

Also interested in the A1 :D

Thanks so much @Andy57 for leaving the first comment in our thread.
Made in top class Spanish lamb suede, our A1 flight jacket keeps all the details from the original design but in a modern fit. The lamb suede itself is beautifully soft and rich giving a sartorial interpretation of classic American workwear. Optional side entry invisible pocket has been created to respond to customers’ demand as well.

@add911_11, we understand one would be concerned about taking measurements for the MTM option. You would not need a tailor but just a friend to measure you, following step by step the guidance in our measurement chart to set up your measurement profile.

Basically it would include each of the above measurements but more importantly it would be better to have a picture of you showing your body shape, posture, shoulder...for our artisans. We would review your measurements with your preference and interpretation of a well fitted jacket.

Alternatively, you can just measure a well fitted jacket with any adjustments you want if you do not want to bother your friends.

Yet, we do have a temporary office in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Awesome jackets! Might cop an A-2 depending on the model pics. Subbed.

I would also be interested in the a2. In my mind it looks like something that i would really want.
