Interesting. I feel the opposite here. I think of my dark chili Rogue as more casual than my golden Rush Streets. I'd wear the Rogues with most jeans, but would have to be pretty dark denim to pair with my Rush Streets (which I think of bad weather strands).

Very interesting. Why no love? I really like the look, fit, color of my Rush Streets!

My office gets pretty casual in summer, especially on Fridays. Light denim and brown CXL Kirks for me.

Have I mentioned my love for CXL?! Have these in 3 colors. For those sizing at home... these run a little short/narrow (but nothing like the sea island), but the cxl has a decent stretch to it. This pair is the same size as my 5 last shoes, though I have at least one more pair where I went down from D->B in attempt to control volume.

Have a great weekend, gents!

I agree with this assessment.

In my case, I don't wear denim very often. I find them too casual for the office or with a sport coat or blazer.

I hear ya. I was trying to convey that, for me, the Rogues are easier to dress down (blucher, oversized perfs/pinking, less tapered last, broader toe) to denim. Hence I place them as less formal/dressy than the Rush. Some of it is also the role they fill. With the dainite sole, I can use them as foul weather Strands.

I love the look of the Rush Street.

Like someone else posted they are too casual to wear with slacks and work best with denim which isn't really a problem for me as that is what I wear them with on some Fridays. However, personally the Rush Streets have never really had a good fit on my feet. I feel as the CXL gives a lot more on parts of the foot than I'm used to with other calf and shell. It boils down to a lack of confidence in the lateral support of the shoe. It's the only pair of AEs that I've rolled my ankle in on more than one occasion walking on uneven NYC payment.

At least I'm not alone.

I also pair my Rush Streets with dark denim as well. Actually, I would only wear dark denim to the office.

Makes sense.

In my experience the damage usually comes when I look at my credit card after a solid night of boozing 😀😀

Does ordering tongue pads for your shoes equate to admitting defeat? I am plagued by either instep pain or movement of the foot inside my shoe. Laces too loose, foot moves more than I like; too tight, instep pain. If I change size down, i just start squeezing my toes together. My eyes love these shoes way more than my feet do! It will be difficult (but NOT impossible) to rationalize any further purchases until I have a solution to this. I do plan on going to the closest outlet soon to see if I can find a shoe size / last / style combination that both looks great and feels great. Hope one exists for me.

What other non-AE shoes do you guys own that you wish AE would produce a version of?

Come to think of it, these Galwayesque boots would be on my list, AND they were an AE MTO by SF member Kahuna75.

That's one of my first checks after a night out if I wore AEs. Assess the scuff damage. I would agree with polish. There was a weird bar under a table I sat at last week when wearing my bourbon and had a scuff in a similar place. Used small amount of brown creme and light buff and it's totally blended. Long term I'm still figuring out what to use on bourbon...

So this will piss most of you off, but Leeds are one of my least favorite. Or maybe better put, very popular pair that just don't do much for me.

I personally prefer the rogue.

Vinturi also released an aerator for scotch/whisky that has a surprising impact if you don't want to wait the month!

All my least favorites get sold. I suppose my suede Amoks get worn the least because I need the support that they lack, but I can't sell them until they're replaced by another suede chukka.
