New to me Clark Streets in Natural Chromexcel/CXL (8-108)

I tend to favor Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, Colonel EH Taylor, and Woodford Reserve for Bourbon.

Also, happy national scotch day! Laphroaig and Macallan on the menu tonight

You seem to hit the bourbon jackpot everytime. Woodford is my bourbon of choice but I'll be basic and say makers is great value for the money as well and they come in liters.

After wearing Allen Edmonds for 4 years, I finally joined the Walnut Strands club:

Not a bourbon or whiskey drinker, but I'm cracking open some Bell's Two-Hearted Ale shortly...

I'm 2 for 3- my 3rd pair of AE's (my Mora's) took multiple attempts to get right, and the pair I have still has tiger striping. Thank you though!

I buy a bottle of Woodford every year for mint juleps during the Kentucky Derby- it just feels right lol. WR was my first nice bottle of bourbon though, so I have a soft spot for it.

So I rolled the dice on a pair of Freiburg seconds. . .knowing that their were quality control issues with them anyway. They were about $100 and it's obvious (in so many ways) why they were seconds. Excess WEIRD creasing on one of the toe boxes (excess on both, but only weird on one), wrinkles, really worn looking backs. I'm about 50/50 on whether or not I should keep them. The fit is damn near perfect. SO comfortable. I've been thinking about keeping them for that reason alone. The back will never be seen when worn. The only thing i'm not sure whether or not it will bother me is the excess weird creasing. Anyone keep a pair that was this bad and like it? Thoughts? Opinions? Guess i'm just looking to be pushed off the fence one way or the other. I'm really just floating in the middle!

Another 12 B-er.

I think you could probably contact customer service or the shoe bank location that you ordered from and see if they can "convince" you to keep them.

I don't think they look too bad.  I think the right boot looks great.

Do they do that? reduce pricing? At a reduced price, it would really be a no brainer. . .and I have a really good relationship with the person I usually deal with. The right book looks great. . .the left one is just weird and I don't know how it's going to develop.

I honestly think that the left boot is probably at worst case scenario already and shouldn't crease much more.  I got them to drop 20% off a pair of Vernons that had some abnormal creasing and a dent in the side of the shoe.  It's worth a shot!

Here's one of my favorite AE products:

A Kentucky boy checking in to set the record straight on bourbon. If you can ever track down a bottle of Pure Kentucky XO, that shit is amazing, it punches above its price. Willet is also good purchase, or 1792 Ridgemont Reserve if you're on a strict budget. But of course, all bourbon is good bourbon!

I'm wearing a pair of Delrays out for their second time ever. This is my first pair of AE shoes and won't be my last (seriously, I've already bought another pair off eBay). Found out at an AE store that I've been buying the wrong size for years (D instead of E width and a half size too large), which is part of why all my other shoes have destroyed my feet and left me with blisters. Quite the revelation. I can actually walk more than a block now!

Anyone know if there will be a shoebank sale between now and 8/21? I've got a 20% off at the Jefferson store and I don't think I can let that go to waste...

Willet is an absolutely beautiful bourbon- I'm about through my bottle and will be buying another.

Happy to hear that about 1792- I've seen it often, but wasn't sure if it was any good.

I'm resisting the temptation to turn this thread into a rye and whiskey thread...
