Shit, I completely forgot that I have a pair of hardly worn 11 D bourbon strands that need to get sold.

Anyone in need?  Also have a pair of walnut Rutledges in perfect condition.

Another winner! My most recent purchase from 6pm. The AE Ascher Penny Loafers for $199 plus tax! I was thinking of getting the walnut Cavanaugh from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for $180 but then I saw these on 6pm and liked them a lot more.

Thought I'd chime in here - discovered AE on Zappos and bought a pair, and then I noticed the retail store right beside my favorite Brooks Brothers where I buy most of my clothes.  I was guilty of shopping for shoes to fit a price point, and generally wound up with poor quality, poor fitting shoes that didn't last long.

These AE shoes are the best constructed, most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever bought.   Here's the collection I assembled over the past year.  I'm proud to support an American manufacturer of quality goods.   I wore the "1776" while hosting our annual 4th of July party, and they started quite a bit of conversation and I received many positive comments on them.

Think I'll order up some shoe trees, and I'm patiently waiting for the anniversary sale this fall.

Walnut First Aves and tan slacks today. It's crazy how stiff the uppers are on these compared to my brown grain version. I NEVER have issues of vamps being too tight, but actually feel it (not painful, but definitely apparent) on the top of my arch when I walk. Makes me wonder if they were pulled a little tight during manufacturing?

Color has shifted from a very pale walnut, to a little richer cognac color. Next time I polish shoes, these are getting another dose of navy on the toe and counter.

I came very close to wearing my brown First Avenues yesterday. I just couldn't do it. It's too hot, and they will get plenty of opportunities in another couple of months.
I suppose the rules indicate that if I mention the shoes, then I must include a picture. They're not on my feet, but this still fulfills the requirement, right?

(This just might be the best $25.99 I've ever spent.)

Is that a white or sand Leeds on the left?  And what is that split toe on the right bottom?

It's a sand color.

The right bottom is a Malone split toe with black rubber sole.  Picked that up in the holiday clearance sale - it's my favorite general go-to shoe.

Ah yes, the Malone.  I'm convinced the Malone is made on the 73 last and not the 511.  I even had an AE salesman tell me that the Malone was definitely not made on the 511, but he wasn't sure which last it was made on.   Have to wonder why the hell AE only has 1 shoe made on this last (the Walton).

Very nice Leeds, btw.  I would definitely consider those someday.
