Thank you for your comment, sir! You're right I'm not really a boat shoe guy, but after seeing the color in person I decided give those a try. Plus we don't have many options on the classic casual shoes these days (I don't like sneakers...).

I'm a master mason as well, so I tend to notice stuff like that lol

Nice! I also got badgered into another pair of Alden shell recently (by my local badger @gatszu). They actually just arrived yesterday in fact!

To each their own. The green is a little too much for me but hey if you can rock them, more power to you. I actually bought my first pair of boat shoes at the beginning of summer. They're just Sperry's so just "beater" boat shoes I suppose. Very comfortable and I didn't want to spend more than $100 on them. Sometimes you just want to slip your feet into something

Many other custom make-ups in assorted colors, styles and leathers.

Oh NO!  Now why'd you have to go and show me those.  LOL.  Now I want them!

So as the collection grows. What does everyone do with their shoe boxes? Storage for the shoes alone can become a bit of a problem. I've been keeping the boxes with the shoe tree box inside. Luckily I have a full walk up attic but it is starting to look a little silly.

I agree -- that is how bourbon should look.   My Carlyles looked very nice as well, but not quite as smooth as those.

I've got them stacked in the closet.  Threw away shoe tree boxes, that is a great idea though!  I have the shoe bags in them and the receipts.

I don't know where the scuffs on the left toe came from, but it's pissing me off. I need to keep a shoe shine kit in my desk (or find a shoe shine stand near me)...
I love the bourbon color.
I tried to find a good picture of my bourbon Strands, and this is the only one I could find:

Those look fine to me.  Had I got these on sale, I'd keep them.   But I'm not as picky as some.

These are from the Nordstrom sale.  Still they look like a baked loaf of bread in person.  LOL.

Thank you kind sir! Looking back I should have MTOd a lot more in shell. But quite happy with the ones I was able to get while they lasted.

If you had to pick an Allen Edmonds shoe that should be a staple in your rotation what would it be?

I keep my shoes in them.  They allow me to stack multiple rows of shoes on the top shelf of the shoe racks.  I only kept a couple of shoe tree boxes which I use to store polishes, lotions, edge dressing etc.
