Allen Edmonds's official eBay account is selling brogue suede Strands for $179. I have a pair of butter chocolate suede Fifth Avenues, and would like a suede pair in a lighter shade, but I think brogue might be a little too dark to provide much of an alternative? Would it be better to wait until a snuff suede pair pops up on the Shoebank?

Here's what I've bought over the past 5 months:

BB Suede Chukka, BB model Oxblood Dundee(2nd)
Black PA, Dark Brown FA, Oxblood Strand
Bourbon Mcallister, Dark Chili Mcgregor(2nd), BB model Dark Chili Warwick
Tan Buckstrand(from the Christmas sale), Dark Brown Patriot(2nd), Bourbon Ashcer
Jade Martitime, Navy Sea Island

Like many of you folks, I was struggling with the fit of my first two pairs. But once I figured that out, boom... I told mysel I've done for at least a year, but I know I'll end up with some shells and suede/walnut loafers...

These shoes are kept out of, rather than in, a closet, so they might both have faded a bit since they were new.

For those of you who got the midnight navy, how do you pair it? If I used primarily darkish gray pants, would I need a blue toned shirt too?

I usually pair them with a shirt that is blue striped, patterned, etc. Works with navy pants and darkish-dark gray pants. I have worn them with navy pants paired with green shirt and with a yellow shirt as well. Depends on the environment I suppose but I live in S. Florida so brighter colors are common.

I've worn with navy suit 2x times and grey once so far. I honestly like with navy the best. There is contrast that makes it pretty classy in my opinion. Others may not agree. I wouldn't wear to a client meeting perhaps but I do think it would be acceptable. It looks nice with a contrasting sock also. As far as shirts yea I think do you. I usually keep my shirts pretty neutral, especially if I have bold socks on.

Bone Snuff Suede Maritime boat shoes on this casual summer Thursday (we have the option of working "summer hours",which is four, ten hour days with Fridays off From July 4th through Labor Day).  The suede makes wearing these really quite comfortable.

Thank you! The snuff color seems to be quite a bit brighter than I expected it to be. Perhaps "brogue suede, left in the sunlight" is the color I'm actually going after.

My midnight navy Cornwallis are dark enough that they're basically interchangeable with my black dress shoes- no one notices that they're blue until I point them out. I wear them mostly with gray suits and occasionally with navy- it looks good either way. I pair a black belt and black watch strap with it, but other than that, shirt/tie/etc is paired primarily with the suit, not the shoes.

I don't know where the scuffs on the left toe came from, but it's pissing me off. I need to keep a shoe shine kit in my desk (or find a shoe shine stand near me)...

I always scuff my shoes on the heels.  Don't know how it happens, but it pisses me off.

I kind of feel like for small scuffs like that you can just get a little friction going with your thumb or a paper towel and buff them most of the way out.  There's plenty of polish on that shoe that will blend right over that, at least enough for the rest of the day.

Nicer suede seems to be a little like shell - different generations and batches can have a fair bit of diversity even within the same "color"

You've posted them before, but those are hands down the best looking bourbon shoes I've seen.  Did they come out of a box that way?

Also, you don't have a brush in your desk?  I do....
