Ooh, I like that Academy in Natural Chromexcel.  Any info on the 2321 last?  It's not on their lasts page,

It could work just as well (if not better) as the cronmok and Neumok for dress, despite being a blucher, since the captoe bumps it up a notch. Depends how dressy is dressy for you.

If the 108 works for you I do not believe you will have any issues with the 201 last. There can be some fit issues as even shoes made on the same last can feel different, but you should be fine.

Regent Street is on the 234 last, same as Amok.

Lookalike AE is buying into the current Viberg inspired fad of dark shoes with light sole edges, but a couple of years late. Hopefully it'll pass soon...

Oops. I stand corrected. The 234 is correct.

That's an interesting sole on the Academy. I wonder why they didn't just go for the v-tread topy.

New offerings are very size challenged.  :(

I noticed that, no 10D in Academy Natural?  Isn't that one of the most common sizes?

True...this happened with the Brisbane and the Cheetah as well...whats up with releasing a bunch of new styles and then half-assing on the sizes? Its getting old, in my opinion.

It must be temporary.  They don't even have my size (8 D), but they have 8 E.   I'm assuming more are on the way.

The Academy and Higgins Mill both look *awesome*, and my guess is they'll follow the trend of looking even better in person than on AE's site.

I wish they had a sole option on the boot though - I'm just not a fan of dainite...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

They did this on another shoe recently, didn't they? Makes me think of Alden's crepe soles with leather tip.

Also, Paul says they're changing piping (at greater cost!) to make the shoes more casual. But then they come out with a casual boot and give it the old piping? And the academy a split welt but piping? I just don't get their design choices.

Edit: I really like both the Higgins Mill and the new Clark street leathers though. I'm appreciating not hating!

Can anyone tell me anything about this?
I've never see it before.
I know it's on the 108, but that's all I know.

I read your post and got excited thinking they brought back the Clark Street.  Then I checked and it's still extinct.  I know you meant Oak Street.  :(

Hey guys needed some advice on fit.

I bought a pair of Ascher seconds in an 8 with a D width.  My other AE shoes have all been in an 8D (Strand, PA, Mora 2, etc), which are a mix of first and seconds.

The Aschers as you can see from the pictures bow out.  Is that bad fit, meaning I need something not as wide as a D or does it mean that since they are a pair of seconds this could be one of the flaws?  I haven't worn them yet and so I am probably going to return/exchange if possible.  I plan to wear these sockless for the most part with shorts or pants that would end up showing the bowing.

(sorry forgive the ashy feet)..haha

Durp. Casual leather streets confusing me. I'm really liking both the brown kudu and the navy cxl options on the Oak Street. Might need to pick up one or the other.
