Got my Niles back from the Cobbler today.  They feel much better.   Of course, stretching a C width to a D width is not going to be ideal, but the V gap already looks a lot better.  I'm going to wear these more and expect the V to close more as I sink into the sole.  The only problem is that these shoes are hard as rocks.  I do not recommend this shoe because the insole is hard as hell.  I hope it softens up in time...

Received Rutledges from the bank today. 2 Pairs that unfortunately don't match in color so mixing the best ones is not really an option. Looks like the only area of major issue is small burnishing mark on the right toe just before the cap on the left shoe and some of that "flaking" of the burnishing on the broguing. Seems like something that could be fixable and not a very good reason to return of otherwise awesome shoes. Keepers I think!

Ok, thankfully I'm not the only one at least!! I agree that it needs to be both shoes though so it's a consistent inconsistency!

Would you tell me where to get it? I have brown AE Carnuba Polish.

These are my new ones. Do they look ok?

Bayfield should be back in the fall.  I got a peek of the revisions history, so they are steadily working on it.  I saw Brown CXL, and Black (didn't see the leather type).

Nice! I've always liked that boot and the Bleecker Street. Those two styles were discontinued when I started buying AE footwear so I never had the chance to buy them. I also heard that the Shaker Heights should be back too. Do you know if that's true or not? That's another style I really like.

Seems like a good boot last - way better than for a buck (but I love my Boones).

Black shell! If they don't release it, I'm going to bug Paul until he agrees to let us do a GMTO. Black shell Bayfield with commando sole, mhm.

Funny, I was planning on MTOing one in brown for myself.

Pretty sure you can do a regular, single MTO for that combo. Black, brown, and burgundy are the standard available colors for shell MTO.

Yeah. I was hoping to avoid the upcharge, since I can get a stock Alden Medallion cap toe in black shell for less than list price for an AE shell boot (albeit without the commando sole).
