Well I gambled and lost. Time to pay up $30!

On the plus side, you've provided others with an excellent example of tiger-striping.

I recently found out my foot width is just under 4.5inches (With socks), From what I'm seeing, most of these lasts all have 3E... and after reading numerous ebay shoe measurements on different allen edmonds listed on there, the width for 3E ranges from 4 1/8 to 4 1/4. Is there a last that extends past those measurements?

Hopefully this doesn't end up on any foot lovers websites, but could someone tell me if this is quite a low arch?

Looks about like mine, which is a slightly high.  The best way to determine size is to go into the stores and get sized.  That will at least get you on the right track, and then you can try on several sizes to see which one works best.

Once you're fitted at the store you'll have a better idea of what size and width you need. Until then, I wouldn't even speculate on the width you need.
In terms of you're arch, I'd say that looks more like a "medium" or maybe "medium-low" arch. It's hard to tell for sure with just that picture.

Just the issue with that is... well, the store has gotten a review for it not having exactly the best "master fitters."

You'll be YOUR best master fitter.  You've started off right by reading through this thread.

So just try on lasts and see what feels comfortably snug?

Yes -- even if they don't size you perfectly, you''ll be in the ballpark.  You always have to try them on to see how they work.   Every shoe, even on the same last, will fit a little differently.  You always have to experience it to know what works best.

So, there's hope I might fit well with the Strand? Hahaha.

Tough to say for sure.  Sometimes people with wider feet have difficulty with the 65 lasted shoes.   Most people go down 1/2 size in the Strand and up a width from their usual size.   However, there are no strict rules - just whatever works for you.

@orange fury I think those both look pretty good. But nothing wrong with the Warwicks? I see some dark streaks in the better-lit photo. Which will clear up with conditioning and polishing. I'd keep them both. Which may be why I went from 0 to 21 pairs of AE (plus one Carmina, one Vass, and one Lobb) in the last three years.

@orange fury I agree - the lefty has a bit of striping, but it's pretty mild and that's about the best flaw you could ask for.

I'm curious to see what your Lasalles look like when you wear them or put shoe trees in them.  They look good if you can restore the shape.

@TexasTexter If tiger striping is the only issue with the carlyles, I'd say you got lucky and should keep. That is a very correctable issue, and there a few options to address it. If you go back a few pages I posted some solutions, in response to @DustinM if I remember correctly ...
