Guys, I have a Warwick question.  So I have a pair of Oxblood Warwicks, they squeak when I walk.  I mean the leather makes a squeaking sound, people say they hear me coming, is that normal?

YES.  This is super exciting to me.

The Darmstadts don't seem to get much mention.

If you take them to the AE store, they can fix that. They have a substance they put on the leather and it makes the squeak go away!

Apply small amounts with a bit of pressure and then immediately remove. Repeat as needed. This won't even everything out but will disguise the directionality, leaving you with a mottled appearance (the goal is a look like museum calf). The Moras I posted yesterday have some striping on the toes. When/if I commit to them this is exactly my plan.

Alternatively, you can cover with a darker polish, applying more in the lighter areas to smooth things out, or by stripping all the burnishing (renomat) and then applying polish evenly. Bourbon is simply walnut-dyed leather that has been burnished, so black polish would be the best replication, but you could also use dark brown. Small amounts of polish at a time, don't apply in gobs.

Personally, option 1 (faux museum calf) is my preference.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the advice!

I just checked to see if nordstrom rack had any price drops from a few days ago and pretty much the entire stock of AE is now gone except for a few belts and one loafer. It looked well stocked 2 days ago. Guess they dumped their stock to a liquidator?

I just looked to see if I saw the same thing.
That one style of loafer that is listed looks like it's in a non-existent size (1EEE). So I don't think they've got anything at all.

The bourbon comes and goes.  It was off site for several weeks so when I heard the 11th & H store in DC had some, I grabbed one.  Then went back and got the other one a couple days later heh.
