Hey gents, I've come across a couple vintage AE shoes on ebay that are on old school lasts. Anyone know anything about the fit of the Kent or Boulevard last?

Yep. I don't know which corresponds to the Kent. You could try looking through the old Allen Edmonds catalogs.

Yep. Kent is what I'm most interested in as there is a 50's model on eBay that I'm interested in.

So theoretically the boulevard should fit the same today as it did 60 years ago?

Hi all,

I'd appreciate some advice/opinions. I recently purchased the walnut/bone Heritage on clearance. I don't play golf, but I liked their look for spectators, so I ordered by phone and had them sent straight in to be resoled, which they did with chili edge soles. I really like how they look.

I got them in 9.5e (I usually range 9.5e/9.5ee on the 65 last). What I hadn't figured on was the slight bit of width lost to the resoling, and as a result the fit feels closer to a D, with a pretty wide V-gap as shown below. The poron insoles also tighten the fit, they feel better when I'm standing and compressing the soles, but when I'm sitting they swell up and feel pretty tight, especially across the point of the V. Is this likely to improve with wearing? I'm debating whether to try the same thing with a 9.5eee from Shoebank and sell these. Normally 3e's are a bit too wide, but I'm wondering if a resole would bring them closer to 2e. There's also the uncertainty around what I'd get in Shoebank seconds, the ones I have were true first quality but those are all gone. Any thoughts?

Anyone have sizing advice on the 2592 last? I'm 8E in the 65, and 8D/E on the 511 depending on the shoe. I brannock 8.5 D/E.

I would wait to see if the V-Gap improves as you break them in. If all else fails, you could try removing the Poron. See this post post #1.

Wow, thanks for that link! I was under the impression the poron could not be removed. I have bookmarked the link and will keep it in mind as a last resort if break-in fails. Thanks again!

For no reason in particular, I picked the 1968 catalog. The Park Avenue was a four eyelet PTB. The Fifth Ave was a punchcap oxford as now, but had SEVEN eyelets.

E.com got back to me about my damaged Shannon Drives I posted about earlier. Offered no concessions, just a straight up exchanged by emailing me a prepaid label. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't offer to expedite me another replacement pair while I send these ones back, but I'm not surprised.

Also, after contemplating over the walnut Madison parks, I've decided to send them back to Nordstrom. I wasn't digging this new shade of walnut but most importantly, I noticed the leather felt much different than my mcallisters. It felt thinner and cheaper for some reason.

I have my pair of Neumoks arriving tomorrow in a D and E width, so hopefully one of those ill be happy with.
