I wasn't sure I'd be attending this wedding until several days prior. The associate at the store told me it'd take a week for the black Carlyles to arrive if I ordered through him. Nordstrom could get them to my door in 24 hours. I thanked the gentleman at the AE store for his help fitting me, got his card, and will return in the near future to buy something else.

On the other hand exposed eyelets does intrigue me with the right leather combination.

You're right about the Leeds. I'm hoping for a casual leather, personally. Exposed eyelets would be great!

Cars and Coffee with the strandmoks this weekend. Found a childhood favorite mustang at the show and had to snap a pic!

Inspired by the weasel imagery of late, I figured I'd would supplement this with some sort of "independence weasel" photo, but google image let me down. "American flag weasel" didn't work either, though there were a couple of borderline nsfw items there. Unsurprising in retrospect, I suppose. Anyhoo - looking forward to awesome footwear!

Wore Black Rutledges a few weeks ago.  Do I get any extra points for using the word "weasel" a number of times while under oath (a deposition in a civil case) around eighteen years ago?

These are my under the desk shoes (Wife doesn't know about yet). Walnut Carlyle, Niles in Brandy, and today, I'm wearing my new black Carlyle's that arrived from dabondo.   Maybe the best $90 I've spent.  They even smell brand new.

What's also very interesting is that the V-gap almost completely closed.  My bourbon Carlyle's had a very wide V-gap on the first day.   These new ones have about 1/4 of an inch while the bourbon had 3/4 inch.

Also, the Walnut Carlyle's here are unworn and are going to be for sale.  Long story short, I found one with the old piping from shoebank, so these are going to be priced to sell.

Is it safe to assume you love the carlyle? Where are oxblood, brown, and chili?

Haha, yes, it is my favorite dress shoe.   Not only do I love the look, but it’s the most comfortable dress shoe I own.   The fit is about as good as it gets.  I think black, walnut and bourbon is enough.  Don’t want to overdo it.

I find mine in oxblood to be the most comfortable ones I own as well though the loafers do give them a run for their money.

I've enjoyed my walnut quite a bit as well. I really like how the profile changes with walnut to black. Black seems very fitting as formal but the walnut fits it in its own way. Unlike the PA which I find off in walnut.

Absolutely! My vote would be that any official and/or transcripted use of the word "weasel" by a forum member should be submitted for the admiration of his fellow weasels.
If I could give multiple reputations, I happily would. Love the shoes btw; speaking of Black Rutledges...

Independence week begins!

The Rutledge is my favorite AE style (I'll back this up throughout the week). This pair, in black, generally gets worn when on official travel, so more often than I'd prefer.

So what you did was waste the poor associates time, who is on commission to make a living, by the way, and stiffed him. What you did is like not tipping a server in a nice restaurant who had given you excellent service. Nice....my two cents.

Seems a bit harsh given his time constraint and the attempt to purchase in store but they lacked his size. He clearly recognizes that and got his information so that in the future he can work with that associate. It is an unfortunate circumstance that stores don't stock much and wasn't able to make it work. This happens all the time in the B&M stores. If he went there with the intention of not purchasing a thing there and was just using his visit for fitting purposes then its quite a bit different. Even still AE always recommends coming in to be properly fitted at stores. If the associated was helpful and he likes the brand why would you believe he won't purchase through that associate in the future?
