Spoils of the sale came into Paramus today.

Navy Strands, crappy indoor lighting makes them look SO black, but they ARE navy (midnight blue is more accurate):

Black shell Park Avenue's, virtually flawless:

Brown grain Brooks Bros. MacNeil's (I'm wavering on these, ironically due to eyelet alignment):

Left 2 more pairs (brown shell Dundee for fit, and khaki McTavish for peanut-butter) on the table.  After trees, cordovan cream and brush I was lucky to escape without breaking four figures.  Really wanted those Dundee's. Just a touch too long.

Thats it I'm DONE with shoe buying for the year.   Fin. No Mas. Over and Out. Fat Lady Sung.

Maybe a Mojave.... and a Sea Island.   Bayfield if it comes before the end of the year.

Oh and a Jefferson, maybe.

You CLEARLY need to re-prioritize you packing requirements.

If you remove the brush and toothpaste you could fit a pair of Sea Island.  You can always get sundries at your destination.

Nice haul there. Good luck holding out on new purchases. That's what I said few weeks ago, and I already have 2 more pairs arriving to that same same store this/next week.

Uber Strandmok 2.0s.

These things are ridiculously comfy. I'm wearing them all summer.

Be in Iowa and Texas over the next week. biggrin.gif

What part of Texas? Houston humidity is gnarly right now, fair warning. I've been wearing Chacos and espadrilles when not at work lol.

See, another great argument for not getting married.

Alright crew. Here's the day I've been waiting for for over a month! Had my Mdnt navy strands dropped off at my downtown store and picked up otw home.

Thoughts:

1) The color is dark, but in light it is distinct. A fellow AE fan was in the store and said my pants laid nicely on the shoe, and I mentioned the navy on navy was interesting. He was shocked and super excited to check them out, and had not heard of the sale. He thought they were black. And from 5 feet, they are under normal indoor light. But in direct light and outside they really take on a life of their own.

2) This is by far the best MADE pair I have received from AE. All cuts, seams, and footbed qualities are on point.

3) they smell like I put a Costco sized stack of blue pens in the microwave. More just funny. I do miss the leather smell on them however as a deep smell of a new pair of shoes is one of my favorites smells.

4) they will work with navy, grey, black, and even an olive is you were so bold. I will be providing a pic of all of the above in the next few days.

5) here are initial shots. Much better ones to come as I find there to be a lack of detailed pics on here and because I'm excited smile.gif

Natural indoor light. Bad photo.

More light.

Super over saturated Jerry bruckheimer CSI Miami style pic with comparo to black Hanover and bourbon (yes that's because of contrasting) strand for fun.

To your thoughts:

1) So true.  Mine even looked different between the lighting in the store where I tried them on and at the checkout desk.

2) Yes, seems like the were a little extra detailed when making these.  Though I could say the same for my Merlot Strands.

3) I'm currently keeping the 3 pairs I got today in a small sealed room so I can go in periodically and breathe that new shoe smell.

4) Looking forward to olive.

5) :):D:slayer:
