You guys have good eyes.  I didn't notice that either.

That settles it.  I am keeping them.

Thanks guys for your help.

Wearing my walnut Leeds 2.0's today.  Seriously considering having them replace the sole with a single leather sole.  Poron + double leather is not flexible enough.

I wore my 2.0s yesterday and was impressed with how flexible they were, relative to what I expected. I think they're going to be my new go-to travel shoes, because they're versatile to go with sportcoats and with jeans, comfortable enough for hours on my feet, and (probably) good enough in light weather that I won't always have to being a separate pair of boots.

I wore them all day on Sunday and they felt stiff.  However, today they don't feel as stiff.  Worn them about 15 times, but perhaps I need to wear them 30 times to achieve more flex.

It's going to take a while to break in a double oak sole, my friend.

With slight chance of rain and the need to dress up for a couple of meetings, I went with Bleecker in Bob's chili. These have been absolute workhorses over the past few years (once I got over the puckering on the vamp). These are likely my most versatile pair of AEs - and they come in super handy on overnight work trips where I only take/wear (gasp!) one pair of shoes.

I love mine as well. One of my favorite pairs! Love the design of this shoe.

It's kind of like a mullet.... business in the front, party in the back!

You CLEARLY need to re-prioritize you packing requirements.

I suppose I said versatility is important because I'd want to be able to wear these with most, if not all, of my trousers. But all my trousers are either gray or nave (with the exception of one taupe pair that I rarely wear), and so with that, I see what you're saying that merlot probably goes with my wardrobe better (or just as well) as chili or oxblood.

I guess that for some reason my impression was that the merlot was less neutral than chili or oxblood - I guess I had that wrong? And I dress moderately conservative at work, but not necessarily super conservative (put it this way - I regularly wear my walnut Strands and bourbon Fifth Avenues, and rarely a tie or jacket, so I'm not at the far extreme of conservative I would say).

With all that said, does anyone think that going with merlot Strands would be a mistake for me (or rather, that one of the other colors in a Strand or McAllister would be better)? Thanks again for the help.

Ok, one more question - thanks again for all the help so far.

Should I be thinking about burnished brown Strands instead of merlot/chili/oxblood right now? To recap, I've got black PAs, bourbon Fifth Avenues, and walnut Strands already. I wear them with gray (various shades) and blue (navy and a bit lighter) trousers.

Thanks!
