@RTD1Why in the world would you ever waste one femtosecond of your life arguing with that guy?

Those sound like good ideas. Given what you wear. You will get less mileage out of walnut than you will out of the brown/chili/burgundy color range, and probably even less mileage out of black.

If you are focusing on those two periods of the year, consider something in brown suede (particularly the 'snuff' color) or pebble grain, to contribute some texture to those combinations.

What size do you wear? We can browse the sale with more specificity that way.

I mainly wear loafers (AE patriots are my favorite, if I could find non burgundy ones, I'd add the colors I don't have) and camp mocs in the spring/summer and boots in the fall/winter (IRs, Indys, 1k Centennials all are brown). My work, home, and weekend outfits don't really change. I wear blue, pink, white, and university stripped OCBDs with khaki, British khaki, navy, olive, cream, stone, and copper chinos. The occasional blazer and sport coat. In the winter I wear plaid, tartan, and chambray button downs. I want to add two pairs of shoes that I can wear in the late summer early fall, and late spring early summer. I am looking at the McGregors in chili or brown, the McAllisters in bourbon or merlot, and in a distant third the Strands in merlot,
oxblood or walnut. Any suggestions. Sorry if this isn't a good thread for this. I could take a picture of my Patriots if that helps!

Thanks for being willing to help! The AE retail store measures me at 9.5d. I have worn a 9e in some of my loafers for other manufacturers.

I went ahead and impulsed bought the McAllisters in Merlot Allen Edmonds had a pair of firsts directly on Amazon for $237 with Amazon credit card rewards I got them for $80 after tax so it was more of a don't think just buy. I still may be in the market for two pairs instead of one more. I mean it was only 80 and I fear with my chinos wearing they may be a bit too dressed up. Would it be crazy to get Oxblood Strands, and Chili McGregors? I am still very open to other shoe suggestions from the tent sale.

I really like the idea of snuff suede shoes buto as a loafer guy I feel like I'd beat the hell out of them. My Nordstrom Rack had Fifth Avenues in Dark Chocolate Suede. I really liked them but fear of demolishing them.

Also here are my Patriots today:

I see a potential filthy barn weasel in the making here. Go ahead and give in and buy both of them. You won't regret it.

That is a heck of a shine on there. I don't normally take it beyond the cap but looks good on the large strap.

I picked these up at the tent sale last night.   I've never seen these before and they only had one pair. The style is called "Bainbridge".  The staff was also intrigued and no one knew the origin of the style and they are thinking it may be an upcoming offering? I'm not sure what last they are on (using the "last number of the four digit number inside" theory they would be a '7' but in comparison to any of my MacNeil's I call shenanigans on that).  Anyway, they were a complete anomaly so I had to have them.

Anyone see these before?

I'm not sure if anyone here wears a 9E on the 65 last but if you are interested in brown shell and didn't get a chance to snag any in the tent sale someone is selling a pair of brown (they are calling them ravello) PAs. Here is a link Shell PAs. I thought about it for a second and decided the brown shell strands I just picked up are plenty for the brown right now. Gotta get some #8 and black before doing brown again. This forum is a bad influence on my wallet....

Never heard of them. Probably a prototype for a new model, or maybe a prototype for something AE will be manufacturing for someone else's label (Brooks, Harry Rosen, etc.).

Yep they are navy.  Not sure if they are CXL. Is that what they use for the Nuemok and the Strandmok?   They appear to be the same navy leather as those if that helps.   Sole pic attached.   The sole has a clear rubber patch at the forefoot which is pretty cool.
