Me and my Warwick on a Saturday. Waiting on a girl (imagine that) but baseball keeping my mind occupied so I'm not focusing on how I should have been eating dinner 30 minutes ago...

I must have missed something... how did you get these in Olive?

$399 seems like a good price for new in box shell.  However, two things concern me: for brand new shoes there's sure a lot of creasing and second, it looks like something funky is going on with the stitching of the wing on the left.  Thoughts?

If they were my size (and I found them on my own), I would've bid by now.

What is the sizing like on the Sea Island? I seem to remember reading here that they run narrow

Thanks

The soles feel similar to Dalton's, but not as thick. For reference, the leather soles on the Concord Avenue have a very different texture and are lighter in color.

Bad-ass sexiness, that shoe.

They aren't as shiny as they look in that photo, but I did hit them with a tiny amount of Reno to darken them a tad.  It took away the matte-finish, but now they have a kind of olive-skin look to them I like a lot.

As an additional note - I'm at the beach at the moment, but I'll eventually do a review on them with pix, but I'm really liking those shoes.  If they had a brown CXL version I'd be extremely excited.  If anyone is thinking of grabbing a pair, I'd go for it (they have the butyl and the rubber ripple sole).  Not on the site, but can be ordered if you call AE.  (unless they've dumped them).

The Daltons are on Double Butyl Leather, the Sea Islands are on Single Butyl Leather, the Concords are on Single Oak Leather.  The Butyl leather is supposed to handle water better, but as far as my experience they feel the same as the Oak leather. YMMV.

@cc808314 Completely forgot you picked up the Concord also. Can you compare it to the sea island also if possible? That would give me a way more accurate idea. Stupidly I rationalized that as bad on length and instep as they were, the unlined would make them work, so I ordered 2 pairs of 1sts, tan & blue (77 each) and returned the blue. I don't care how inexpensive these were, this was a real bad idea. They feel too short, bad for instep, and you're 100% right - the sole is just plain weird, like too soft and too flexible for my taste. Hey I'm entitled to f up once in a while.

Agree - I have the Olive Shannon Drives and I really like them as well. I have the white wedge type sole so mine are a little more casual. Great shoes. I love the look and they are my most comfortable AE shoes.

Can anyone comment how AE Acheson fits vs. Alden tassel? Aberdeen feels just a bit too tight in the toebox, not sure if it will expand enough over time (that's on 9.5D, 9.5E work for the toe would be too wide in the heel, 9E would be too short).

I was able to try on AE Grayson, it fits "ish" (as in not in pain anywhere, but not particular good fit either and don't like the look of it), so just wondering how would Acheson compare

Is a Byron or Fifth Avenue and adequate substitute for a Park Avenue? Does the punch cap make it too informal for a wedding or funeral?

Either would be fine.
We're talking black, right?
