Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc - Page 434

I decided to try the Olive Sea Island (the brown almost looks reddish on my screen could just be my eyes). Looks like the Navy ones will have to wait. Still like the Navy Neumoks too but for me it would take away wears from the McTavish so I struggle pulling the trigger. I don't want to get to the point where I have some that get little to no use, then it really is a problem lol.

What will distinguish it from the DR made versions?

So, its still a 0.

Yeah, this sale is not great for most people, unless you want a belt.   I imagine the late June sale will be better.

Interesting how both the Park Ave and Hopkinson did not work for you.

It will say made in the USA on the insole! Tempting to pull the trigger, but I should ask my wife first. Hmm. Wondering if I should try TTS as I did with the Maritime or go down a half size.

Haha, unfortunately after wearing them I noticed the sole is sewn way to closely on one side. They will be going back to be resoled and maybe switched to dainite. The edge is cracking off after a single wear.

Yeah, it is frustrating. This did lead me to Alden for this style of shoe and I received a 9016, black shell perforated cap toe, yesterday. Like a Fifth ave in styling.

Well the model number on them should allow you to ask customer service to identify if they are the recraftable version or not at the very least. I thought they changed the insoles on their DR shoes but the ones currently on AE website show them saying handcrafted in the USA despite them being anything but that. Frankly I hope its from their old stock photos because it should not say that.

It is from old stock photos. I asked about it and they said "All current stock has the correct 'ae by Allen Edmonds' stamp in the insole. The pictures will be updated soon." That was four months ago.

So then the ones on the rack could very well be made in USA, we'll see. Should be here sometime next week.

Thanks. Tried them on in the store and they do run small. Have to go up a full size from what I already ordered.

Fingers crossed! I just pulled the trigger too.

Hmm, I went with my 65-last size, which is what I got the Maritime in and which fits well. Hoping I don't have to return and hope they're still available...

Does this look like a really wide gap to anyone else? Just got another pair of these and was concerned. 3rd pair I've received. Just want to be sure.
