@Neo1 I didn't try a suede version of the Cavanaugh but that's a really good idea.  I think the 8.5 in suede might be the one.

@BackInTheJox would love to see a picture of the Oak loafers.  (I own zero loafers, yet, handful of boat shoes but I think I'm about to make the plunge into the exact same scenario you're in, going from no loafers to, "I might need another closet to store these loafers.)

Am I the only one in the forum that doesn't own a walnut shade yet?  I think it's a great color, but I might need to join or start the Oxblood Anonymous group.  The dark chili doesn't quite do it for me (beautiful shade, just like the walnut) but something about oxblood just draws me to it.

@barrance - Hard to argue with @mreams99's sound logic.

The major deciding factors for me were 1) I was seeing poor leather quality out of the russet brown (both 1st and 2nds) and 2) I didn't like the black welt.

I love my tan ones!!

I tried a pair of tan Gobi boots - the color didn't thrill me. Based on how these look I may try to get the tan as well if they're still available.

@mreams99 I knew someone on here would make that suggestion

@middlepP I think that's what made me lean towards the tan in the first place. I like the brown, but the tan looks a little sleeker

@Dario65 Good point about the rain.  I hate it when light leather shoes get rain spots, but I don't wear any of my nice leathers in the rain.

Thanks to all for your input.

@SLCRich here you go. The lighting in my room is poor.

@BackInTheJox those are a thing of beauty.  If they are 8.5d and you get bored of them, let me know :)

Corporation's growing.  Not the full stairs of some, but not bad for only 13 months in.

They're actually 8D, but were advertised falsely as 8.5D when I bought them. I'm usually a 9E in most AE shoes, but OSB run quite large. That said, 8.5 would probably be perfect for me (which is why I bought these) but 8 may end up being too snug/narrow.

Do you know your sizing with OSB? Are you an 8.5D in most shoes? If so, an 8 is probably very close to perfect in these.

I haven't worn them anywhere yet (those pics were taken today), but if I do decide they're too small the. I will let you know!

Rough leather Long Branches today. Does anyone else feel these have a low instep? Anyway, I set out to darken these from the beginning and they look much better to my eye now. The red laces were too fashion forward, I opted for black.

@BackInTheJox I don't know my size in OSB sadly.  I'm mainly a 9d in AE, 8.5m in sperry, probably going to be an 8.5d in AE loafers as well.

Fair enough. I suspect 8 may be your OSB size, particularly if you would wear them without socks.

Daddy/Daughter dance tonight.  I'm wearing the gray suit.  Should I do the Dark Chili or the Walnut?  Also, shirt/tie suggestions for either?  Trying to pop it, and maybe avoid a white shirt this time.  All kinds of blues, off white, pink are available shirt choices.  Input appreciated.

@danwatts2005 I gotta say pink shirt with the dark chili.

I say "chili" too. And I'm partial to blue or white shirts with a gray suit.

The "which shoes with this suit" question got me to thinking about turning that question around the other way.
I'm going to wear my bourbon Strands tonight.

Should I wear these with a navy suit, or a medium grey suit?

Sharp looking shoes @mreams99, personally believe they'd look good with either, but I lean the medium gray.  (This is coming from someone who owns exactly zero suits, and I'm getting suit envy now.)
