I don't know about a Leeds in blue calf. I'm interested in a blue shell Leeds from the trunk show.

Should I expect more from AE customer service? My Nathan's I bought from Jos A Bank is coming apart from the front welt. The thread is falling out so I reached out to AE. I didn't think it should require a recraft so soon since I rotate them with my Warwick, strand, Jeffersons, and macneils. None of the other shoes have the thread coming apart. The rep emailed me back and sent me a link to recrafting. When I asked them to look at the pictures, she asked where I purchased them. I told her it was Jos A Bank and she wrote, "Have you tried taking the footwear back to Jos A Banks? They do like to work with their customers.

Sincerely,"

Imo that's poor service. It's an AE show. I had the Cornwallis in the basket and decided not to purchase. Am I being unreasonable?

Some retailers PREFER that you work directly with them instead of going directly to the manufacturer. I think that it was a reasonable suggestion from AE. I would talk to JAB first. And if you don't like the response from them, you can still take it up with AE.
By the way, those may not require a "recraft" -- it may just be a repair.

Just FYI, the Player 2.0 and Madison Parks are on two completely different lasts. Just got my players in brown green, and unfortunately they are longer than I expected. Feel closer to a 9.5. These are both 9EEE:

Some almost walnut Elgins for almost Wednesday.  Now I have to go home and stop myself from trying to buy something in the new midnight.

Also, got my dark chili Cornwallis. The left shoe is fine, but the right shoe has some "leopard spotting" going on ( not to be confused with the tiger striping of bourbon). Not sure if it'll clear up with a little cleaner conditioner or chili polish.

Anyone have any idea on the number of navy shoes sold?

Does anyone know of any differences between the Hillcrest and Dawson? Both are bicycle toe, leather sole shoes. Both appear to be on the 234 last. Anyone?

I wish the Rack had those in my size. They look like a mix of Rush St. and Mc Tavish. I really like them.

@BackInTheJox I don't know who started the thread, but someone here said both of those were on the 222. I know the player 2.0 was 108. Didn't know for sure about the Madison - I couldn't believe they'd be 222 with all the hate for that last but maybe they are. Good pickups btw.

First pair of Allen Edmonds from the shoe bank sale. According to Brannock I'm a 10.5E. In reading about the 5 last I went down a size for the 5th Ave purchase and got 10E.

My question is how far should my big toe be and how should they crease?

In the picture I've pointed to the tip of my big toe. The shoes feel good and in just walking around the house I don't feel pinching on my toes.

If they're comfortable, it looks like they fit to me.

Yukon belt arrived today.  Was told this would match the Wilbert 1951 (brown) but it's not exactly the same color, although in the ballpark.  This belt better matches the old Wilberts rather than the newer, orangish one that I have.    Gonna keep it though as I like it.

OK......bad experience with my 2 week old Malone (clearance sale ..not factory seconds).

Severe creasing and the front toe stitching is already pulling the leather and has a dark outline (hard to see in the image).

This is where (from my personal experience with AE) is their leather/finishing is hit-n-miss. You either get a good pair or a bad one .

Compared to the abuse I've given to my Loakes Buffords and Alden Indy's, I'm surprised the Malones is already about to de-stich itself after a few wears.

I'm glad I paid $157 for it.....

And I've stated this before...AE's are good in the $200 mark. Above $300, there are a lot of brands out there with better consistent finishing and better leather cut.

Off to find a replacement for my Malones now :-(. Loakes??

Pretty sure that'll clear up with cleaning/conditioning/polishing.
