Amoks and blue chinos today. Such a weird fit with these - tightest waist of any shoe I've ever worn, yet I have to get them tied tight to reduce heel slip. Same size as my 5-last. I only have one other shoe on the 234 last (Addison seems to fit quite differently), so not much to compare it with.

Question to the group:

What other colors might I pair with these chukkas?

It's funny, I seem to gravitate towards these same chinos (or vice versa) every time I reach for the Amoks. I'd like to branch out from the blues/greys, but haven't found a khaki color that works.

God I wish I could find a pair of those in my size.  I will own either that exact shoe or the Alden counterpart very soon.

Burgundy Munday with the oxblood Daltons.  Sunlight really seems to brings out the red in these.

Thanks! Yea it took me a bit to really understand how you get it glassy, I started just adding small drops of water and no additional polish (aside from what was embedded in the rag) and that's when the magic happened after 5-6 drops and rubbings. I didn't end up buffing to brushing at all after I got it smooth, I was afraid it would mess it up. Is that common for finishing? All I did was rub ever so gently with a flannel towel for a few seconds. In the end it was as shinny as I wanted it.

My method is to take some polish and start rubbing it into the leather and as it starts to feel like there is some friction against the rag, I hit it with a drop of water and continue to polish until the friction comes back.  I'll usually do this 2-3 times with a moderate shine and buff it up with a cotton cloth to heat the polish up some, then hit it one more time with a spit shine to the point of just a gentle rub down like you described.

Merlot Monday today. Seems like outdoor photos with natural sunlight is becoming the new trend around here so I took a shot at it. Much harder to get a good angle and also not look like a weirdo taking a picture of his shoes!

Those look great, Andy. Have the Daltons in bourbon and I'm giving very serious thought to making the oxblood the next addition to the family. Would be nice if they landed on sale this summer.

Those are great. They were a web gem a few years back, right? Blue, purple, and green suede? Wish they'd bring those options back. And use green and blue leather on something made in the US other than golf shoes every once in awhile.

Thanks guys! I usually dress a lot more conservatively, but am meeting my entire work team today so decided to jazz it up. The purple laces match a purple V-neck sweater that I'm wearing over my basic shirt.
