Bloomingdale's. 15-25% off depending how much you spend, and code SHOP25 gets $25 off for every $100 you spend. Brings single pairs to $255, two pairs to ~$250 each, and three pairs to ~$225 each. It's taking a lot of willpower not to go crazy.

I would've been all over this deal if they had widths other than D.

They have EE and EEE in some sizes/models. Not on the Cornwallis, sadly.

Bloomingdales has a buy more, save more sale. Also with the promo code SHOP25, It takes $25 off for every $100 you spend. Since the Macalister is $300 right now, you can get it for around 200. I think the Park Avenues and Strands qualify too for the Buy more Get more and the SHOP25 code. Only D width though.

Yeah, the Cornwallis was the one I had my eye on, unfortunately.

Right now a brown Cornwallis is at the top of my list of desired acquisitions.

Sounds like we should try to get a group buy on a brown shell Cornwallis and ask them to waive the leather change fee. nod[1].gif

Was going to wear my new Shannon drives today but in the daylight I noticed some flaws and wanted input. AFAIK, these aren't supposed to be seconds, just clearance firsts on their site.

First, the sole has black stains/color on the front and side edges. The photo makes it look like its separating but it's not. Just has black color.

Second, near the toe on the left shoe, the welt is slightly separated from the shoe.

Third, it appears the lace holes are misaligned but not sure if this intentional with this style.

I emailed them just now but also wanted y'alls thoughts on this.

First up were the walnut Madison parks from Nordstrom. The color seems off but super comfortable. I actually like them better than the Mcallister but they are too similar for me too keep. I'll hold out for a future purchase of the walnut strand.

Second were the olive Shannon d drives. Wow, super comfortable but the color is going to take a bit to get used to. I'll likely keep them.

On Monday, brow Neumoks are getting delivered.

Can you take a few pics of the walnut Madison Parks?  I'm curious to see the color as you describe it.

Here you go. In daylight next to bourbon mcallisters (which are spot on color) so you have a reference. The Madison park are supposed to be walnut but they are nowhere near the color I remember of the walnut strands or Cornwallis I saw in person a few weeks ago.

To my eyes this photo is accurate to what I'm seeing in real life. The "walnut" is more orangey tones than yellow

Hey @tmchow
My olive shannon drives have none of that. They are all flaws. I would make them take care of it somehow. If it was me I would want a refund+ or exchange. Mine are seconds and in 100x better condition than that.

Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll try to go to a nearby store to exchange to see what they can do.

Hmm.....that looks pretty darn similar to how I expect walnut to look. Maybe a tad darker, which many others on here have noted is apparently the "new" walnut these days. But I recall those aforementioned examples looking more bourbon-like.

Either way, I think they look great.

Ordered a pair of Lasalle's for $179.  Taking the gamble to see if they will look alright.  My first pair of seconds were fantastic.  The 511 last fits me well, but this will be my first on the 8 last.

Question:  If a shoe is too narrow, but also slips easily on the heel, this means the shoe is too long, right?  I had this experience with the Wilbert, so I ordered 1/2 size up.  But I'm wondering if I would have been better off ordering 1/2 size down and with E width?   My normal size is 8D, so I'm wondering if 7 1/2 E would have been better.  I couldn't try this size at a store because they don't care this unusual size.

Maiden voyage of the Oxblood Cavanaugh. My chili belt is dark enough that it's a good match.

Her response this morning:

"You will never believe this, but we just got an email on Wednesday saying that they are expanding our Cordovan program a bit.  We are now able to offer any shoe that we carry in our normal calfskin line as a shell cordovan in either black, brown or burgundy.  There is an upcharge of $110 for special makeup shoes, but we can definitely get you a burgundy Strand if that is what you want."

I'm not sure if I am adding clarity or confusion, but here goes. Because of fit issues for me, I emailed AE and asked about the possibility of a Rogue in shell. I was wondering the cost, time to make up and other relevant data.

This is an exact quote back from the factor, so that I do not err in a paraphrase. My response from Megan was as follows:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We are unable to offer additional styles in Cordovan as a custom order at this time. Our custom department is currently undergoing maintenance, therefore we are limited to what we can customize on a style until they relaunch this department. Currently, we are only able to offer custom sizes or soles. Once this department does relaunch we should be able of complete the request you are looking for."

So for the moment, it sounds as if the right hand is saying one thing and the left hand another. Time will tell.

I think the first email may have jumped the gun in terms of promising immediate ability to offer cordovan in other styles; it sounds like Megan may be referencing the same email regarding relaunching their custom department. That said, there has been a history of getting different results from different associates, or even from the same associate on different days. Which is why it's so important for corporate to clarify their policy.
