I agree with that logic.  I've never understood this.  Some models they could do:

Burgundy Strand

Black Strand

Brown Leeds

Brown MacNeil

Brown Bradley

Black Bradley (they made this at one point, actually)

Brown Cambridge

Black Dalton

Brown Dalton

And those are just the ones that I would buy (or have managed to buy already).

I think the Norwich would be a damn good looking shoe in burgundy shell.  I just can't get a good fit on that shoe.

My understanding is that do not generally keep uppers on standby for shell anymore.  So why can't they just do all of their shell offerings in any of the three colors?  It's literally just a color switch.

Am I the only one here excited for the return of the Wendell?

I would kill for a pair in shell.  Suede could be nice too.  Or a pebble grain leather.  Or sharkskin.

Malones for Friday.  These look a lot more walnut than the brown I thought they would be, but they still look nice.

One of my favorite shades of cordovan, the brown on these Dundees has such great variation as well as olive undertones, it's just beautiful.

Oh man, those are the colors I'd want them in, too (assuming Color 2 isn't available for the Cornwallis). Love the Carlyle in blue and the Rogue in burgundy.

Ghetto BCF, bad area. 5 pairs of Rutledge, at least 2 firsts, all really good shape. 139.99 a pop, all 0.5 sizes too long for me. I feel your pain.

And you didn't let me know? What's wrong with you? smile.gif

McTavish on this casual Friday. This is the cognac color which is at the lighter end of the spectrum from others I have seen. Really appreciate this shoe for jeans and other casual wear.

You forgot stingray! It's way better than most bicycle toes. Shell might roll weird. Suede all the way.

What is that blue one?!   Carlyle?!?   How/where did you find that?  That one is awesome looking.

Yes indeed.
The Walton in black makes no sense to me.
I'd love a pair in brown, or even better in oxblood.

Got it during the trunk show.  The other two in the pic also.

Bourbon was too expensive of a color. Its inconsistency and striping led to way too many seconds. I love the color, but completely understand why they dumped it. It wasn't profitable enough to keep.

It's $110 on top of the normal price of a current shell model, which is $650 for shoes & $725 for boots.

So, take a calf Rogue ($395), add $255 for normal shell price ($650), then add $110 for an "MTO" makeup ($760).

$760 for shell selection on shoes, $825 for shell on boots in shell colors they stock (Burgundy, Brown, Black).  Then add $40 (I think) if you want JR soles.

IMO...

In my mind, that's pricing at or above AE's seemingly better quality, international competitors for shoes, maybe not boots.  US customers pay less for Carmina stock makeups, for example, which could be an alternative (e.g., #8 double monk v #8 Mora 2.0 "MTO").  For boots - Carmina and C&J are closer to $1,000... so maybe there's value in the odd boot?  Is a C&J (read Peal & Co) cap toe boot $175 better than an "MTO" 1st Ave?  Maybe not...
Yes, that's correct. I was charged $40 extra for double JR soles on top of stock price for my Burg Shell PAs.

PAs usually come with single JRs
