Ok, thanks. Looking for something inexpensive to do tux duty, which is only about once every 1-2 years.

Also, the wear on the sole of the second one seems much more significant to me. I don't think it would last nearly as long as the first one and it also likely means the insole will have shaped more significantly to previous owner.

If they get better in the next few wears I might consider having them stretched to see if I can salvage them.

That's too bad. They look nice. I noticed they are on the 333 last. What has been your experience with that last compared to what other lasts you wear since it is running small and wide? I have a pair on the same last on the way, took a chance on them, and interested in what to expect.

Thank you, they are from 2011 and were my first pair of Shell Cordovan shoes.

If they purchased them from a local store, then i doubt they were shell.  Additionally, if this was the original owner and we reason to believe it is, then he knows to hold onto them if they were indeed shell shoes.

Yeah, my thoughts as well.  Just wanted to check with the experts.

They look calfy to me, and the seller's description actually says "calf." They do, however, have the combination heels that currently appear on shell Norwiches, while the most recent calf Noriches had a solid rubber heal. But maybe the calf version came with the combo heal back when these were new? Best thing to do would be to subtly ask the seller if he can give you the model number from inside the shoe.

They are calfskin. AE has made Calfskin shoes with the Dovetail Heals before. My first pair of Allen Edmonds was a Walnut Calfskin Player Shoe from Nordstrom and it had Dovetail Heals like those Norwiches do.
