Lol, I was just talking about this in PM's with another member earlier this week. His photos really are terrible. Make everything look really bulbous in the front.

I like to think it keeps the casual bidder from taking interest in shoes that I happen to know for a fact look much nicer in real life.

I've gotten some great deals from him, including a beautiful pair of Cornwallis and a Ralph Lauren/AE Sanderson with combo/tap sole.

Thoughts on the Cavanaugh? I'm looking for a casual loafer.

I know mto is all but dead, but are they allowing sole changes? I've had my eye on a 5th Avenue, but want it on dainite. And a Normandy, on something other than the leather sole.

I picked up my merlot Hopkinsons from him for $85, with basically zero wear on them.

I bought it today in Oxblood.  I can't see it working with a suit, but jeans all the way to business casual marks the sweet spot.

I like it.

I wear 8E for PA, Strand, and McAllister then 7.5E in Dundee 2.0 (Suede).

I tried various sizes in-store and found 8E works for me once again.

Can any of you barn weasels comment on the fit of the First Ave in shearling? Does one need to size up, or did AE account for the lining?

They are lasted with the lining sewn in, so I would take your usual size.

I have First Aves with and without shearling, in the same size.  Fitment is similar.  (And, I loved mine about 10 times this winter)

It depends (sales associate's whim/phase of the moon?); the Fifth Avenue already comes in Dainite.

I would call and try; sometimes they'll work with you and sometimes they just shut it down.

Does the grain leather soften up at all? The store models that I have seen almost feel like hard rubber.

Ben up at Freeport is a total boot guy - meaning every color Dalton, both Normandy, etc. If I recall, I think he said he went with the same size in the shearling 1st, but needed to start out wearing dress socks until they stretched out some.
