Gents, keep your eyes peeled at the Nordstrom Rack website:

https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/product/1155377/allen-edmonds-shaker-heights-lace-up-boot-multiple-widths-available?color=BLK-BLK+HE#

They're all sold out now, but occasionally a few more will show up. It's taken quite a bit of my willpower not to order one!

That's the cognac, but not the typical cognac color. Though I like them a lot, his are somewhere between the regular cognac and the natural tan.

the ones on shoe bank say "dark brown"

I still wonder about those suede/tweed penny loafers I saw.  I've searched through the old catalogs, but haven't been able to find anything on them.  Guess they may have been an failed MTO.

I don't know why they do that, but cognac on Shoe Bank will be 4045S  (regular model number is 4045, "S" is for second).  I'm pretty sure they've always used "dark brown" as the description, so your range of color is anything from his to mine:

Yes, but the model number is the same.  Maybe I got an atypical pair.  I think if they had been darker, I would still like them but not as much.

Edit - better add the freiburg & Sauk Drive to that too...

Thanks a lot @Neo1!

Boone and Tobywing have been cut too.

Does anybody have fit experience with the new 1757 last these are on?

I did post about this before, but you know I saw a black shaker at BCF (1st quality), I believe it was 10 or 10.5E, for 34.99, with a pile of red clearance stickers on it.

I was able to snap this while waiting at the dentist office. She'll really is bullet proof. They had a tough day walking through rain, slush, and snow.

I'm not sure you got an atypical pair; mine look very much like yours and nothing like @M635Guy's. And none of them look like the stock website pic. I'm hoping they will darken as they age. Given my walnut Black Hills have done so (and after 2 years, they're currently darker than my new cognac McT's!), I think I'll be in good shape. Just may take a while...

I think it is a color temp/white balance thing.  I have one pic of mine that look much more similar to what is on the website:

But they look much closer to my other pix (or even the left shoe) than that in real life...

Rancourt made a brown leather/Harris Tweed loafer for BB.

As you probably know, both shoes are on the same last. And both are balmorals. For me, they fit the same, which is what I expected.

@RichieP Never tried the 1757, but asked them over the phone about it. Only info I got was that its a B34 derivative but for shoes not boots, so think large toe box with lots of room up front.

@ace13x Based on some of your posts I bet you'd be a great candidate for the overlord. Take a look at my giant long review I posted to the AE site when you get a chance. Maybe next time they run a sale.

No lie, I've thought about it.  But now that I picked up a pair of Normandy's, I don't see when I would choose the Overlord over the Normandy if both were in my closet.  Took a walk to the store in them yesterday in Snow/Ice just because.
