Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc - Page 184

Well....it turns out that I really like dipping my toe in the shell pool. They fit well and were ready for a brush, a wipe, a thin coat of VSC, some more brushing and edge dressing. They look better in person than they do in the picture. Now that the "big kids" in the forum led me to my first pair I realize I may have a small problem. My mother used to refer to these people as "bad company" and told me to avoid them.

All of them bluchers and all of them with an Othello or mini-lug sole.

Really like these malones, used to dislike the split toes  but now that's all what I want...

Got these navy kirkwoods from Shoebank, liking them so far. Also, my first attempt to include watch in the shoe pic..

I believe the technical term for this is "Filthy Barnweasels"

I'm curious:
Who wears their new AE shoes right out of the box,
and who puts shoe cream or wax on them first?

I just got a pair of Brisbane sneakers the other day (the guys at the Michigan Avenue store were nice enough to give them to me at the sale price in advance of the sale). I normally wear an 8.5EEE, but the 9D in these fits me well. They seem like they're going to be fantastic to wear over the next few months. Can't wait to break them out.

Before I joined this thread I'd wear mine right out of the box.  But no more.  Now I put shoe cream and wax on first.  Makes all the difference in the world.

Bick 4 in and outside before wearing for me. I usually don't wax until after a few wears; gives me a bit of time to figure out what I want to do with them ...

Add one more to the list.  Wore my golden brown CXL Maritimes today as well.  Had to decide between them and my navy ones.

Haha clearly very similar tastes indeed, I have the navy Maritimes as my other pair too.

I'll wear them around my house fresh out the box. Then I hack into weather systems and compare data on potential rain patterns. If weather looks good, they go out in the wild naked as a newborn

All the king's men...couldn't put Humpty Dumpty's empty wallet back together again...

Got the boys out for some fresh air between the raindrops.
