Dark Chili with a black welt, black eyelets, and black laces?...thats a first...would this have been an MTO?

I'm pretty sure this has been answered, but is the Madison Park the same as the Player? If so Player 1.0 or 2.0?  Also was the Madison Park available in widths other than D?

Found a pair today at the rack, but I wasn't crazy about the fit, and it was Walnut, and I'm already considering a Dalton in Walnut.

In other news, picked up a pair of Mojave's for $60 at the same rack.  I'm not sold on crepe soles, but for $60 I was compelled.  I will say they are SUPER comfy, but I still prefer a bit more structure like my Dundee's.

Nope, I got it from AE online. I've been trying to sell the dark chili shoes for ages too. I'm keeping the oxblood for myself

Yeah...I've seen you trying to sell them on SF before...If you say they're Dark Chili, then they're dark chili...but I guarantee you they would be gone in a week if you labeled them Oxblood....not saying you should, since you say they're actually dark chili, but you could easily get away with it, if you did..

Haha, thanks for the advice. I'd keep them both, but I have enough dark brown to keep me happy. The dark chili is a more versatile color IMO since you get the dark burgundy and dark brown combined. I'm surprised they haven't sold. AE doesn't get the love it should on SF

I agree...in particular, the Dark Chili Dalton really gets no attention around these parts
...I think the Dark Chili Dalton puts u in a bit of a pickle...I think for most people the whole point of the dalton is a bold, but potentially elegant statement boot.. but Dark Chili, while a beautiful color, doesn't really make the statement that walnut or Oxblood does, in the same boot..so I think it gets overlooked often as the color dejour for the Dalton.

You're lucky. Guy at work commented on my Rush Streets a while back. A few days later, I saw him again, and asked if he was into shoes. He said, "Oh yeah! I love shoes! I have several. Stacy Adams, Steve Madden...I like some Cole Haans, but I've never had any."

Strike 3 for me today.  Hit up Walmart, CVS and Walgreens, no tongue pads.  Going to Nordstrom, Dillards, and then AE itself tomorrow.  If that fails, the world wide web it is.

Why not look for some of the pads that go on the insole? When I have ever worn loafers, they have worked better for me than tongue pads.

The Player is outstanding - fits me like a glove, looks great. Don't get me wrong - I love the Larchmont, it fits roomy but very comfortably, just something about the long length and squared off toe just turns me off. So id say my top choices would be the Madison Park and/or the player 2, followed by the Larchmont. I actually did try the bourbon a while ago - if you feel like rolling the dice and potentially getting a pair with that striping, the bourbon looked better to me, but the walnut's probably less risky. Based on the 65 blucher fit, no way id want a McGregor.
Thanks. I'd like a walnut wingtip.
The 65 last is a good fit for me. The 333 is a little roomy, but works pretty good with an insole. I think that the length is comparable -- maybe it's an optical illusion that makes the 333 look longer. When I hold a Flatiron up against a 65-lasted shoe, it actually looks a little sleaker to me.
I can't find the Player in my size. I may order a Larchmont and give it a try.

Hi Everyone, I'm about to drop these Augustas on Ebay. Unfortunately, I bought these right before realizing that my weight loss recently dropped me from a 11.5D to a 11D (though a Brannock device reports me as an 11C, I haven't yet tried on an 11C). Once they go up, I'll post the link here. If anyone would like to make a direct offer, please feel free to send me a message.

Yes, they did. I tried a pair in EEE a few weeks ago.

Maybe I'll snag both just to test. And to be honest, after I sent my first message I knew I was keeping them. That color is just too perfect for a loafer. Maybe the heel slip will lessen after breaking in??

I just got a Bates off the bay to try the 555. Too short and wide at the heal. I'll have to do a half size up with tongue pads. I actually need a half size up and size narrower, but since they don't want to do a C in it, I will just have to make do. I really wanted a maritime, and that is why i purchased them; just to check the size.

I'm just going to say it. AE needs to learn how to make a loafer. Honestly, every cole haan loafer in my brannock size have fit perfectly. I even got a size to big from a neighbor once that didn't slip at all (just had a role in the vamp from being too long). I can't bring myself to buy the crap leather, but come on. I have actually yet to try on my brannock size on the 606. Perhaps that will finally give me some satisfaction. Still though, I want the maritime, but it just seems as if it won't fit.

@redmusic1 Interesting...i actually thought the 555 was one of the better lasts from the handsewns and was glad to see the expanded use. You're right about the width though, and the cxl on the maritime will make it feel looser. As an aside, if you're interested, going the half size up on the 114 or 2592 might work and they also seem narrower to me. Not the same thing as the maritime at all, but lots of these i80, i90, hwy 280 etc that might work for you.

The 606 and its counterpart the 2042 are very very different - you'll either love it or hate it, you have to try it first. It's about the narrowest heel I've ever tried.
