I'm thinking about picking up the Brooks Brothers version of the Strand. I like the rubber sole better for my intended work casual environment I plan on wearing them in. Is the last and sizing of the Brooks Brothers version the same as the Allen Edmonds Strand?

Yes.

Yes, but:
The poron insole takes up a bit more room than cork. The 65 last is not great for me (I'm between 11D and 11E), but a 65 with poron fits me pretty well (in 11.5D). In a different last, I have more overall room in the non-poron version, though the same size works for me in both.

Bottom line: if your AE size is snug, you may want to size (or width up) in BB.

First time posting in this thread.  I purchased some Allen Edmonds, brown Neumok.  First Allen Edmonds shoes I've ever owned.  On inspection I like the quality.  I tried them on and now I have a few questions.

First of all, I was looking for a lighter brown or a tan shoe.  I feel like these are almost like a natural color, but slightly darker and more grayish.  I like them, but they are not quite as light/pale brown as I wanted.  So one of my questions is what are the best Allen Edmonds Tan (think very light brown) options?

On to the fitment.  They fit, but having never owned wingtips like these (or whatever these are called) the toe is VERY pointy.  More than I'm used to.  I don't mind the look, but I'm wondering if the shoe is too big (long).  Where exactly is my big toe supposed to sit in this shoe considering the very long toe box?  I'm guessing it's not supposed to get close to the end in a more traditional non-pointy shoe.  Is this the case or is this shoe too big for me?  I wear a 9.5D or 10D depending on which type of shoes for other shoes.  These are the first shoe I've worn in a while where I am wondering if I need a tiny bit more width.  My fifth (small) toe is very snug against the side in these, especially on my left foot.  I am not sure if this will be comfortable or not over time.  So does the leather in the brown Neumok stretch at all like a lot of other leather shoes/boots do?

I took some pics, first of just general color and fitment, but I did take a couple bending my knee so the shoe creases.  Is this the proper crease area on the Neumok if they are proper fitment?

Have you considered the Rush Street? It certainly has exceeded my expectations. I've seen a few 2nds left on the shoebank which is a great deal.
Has same insole, dainite rubber sole, and is a little more casual than the Strand.

You would have liked the tan mctavish, I believe.

I also was looking online at some tan/walnut University wingtips.  The problem is, I'm shopping online and it's extremely difficult to tell how light or dark a shoe really is.  And there is natural color variation in leather so even in the same style/color, you might have some that appear lighter and darker.  There was also a super light colored brown "boardwalk" wingtip, but I couldn't find any information for that online.  And I think I did see some McTavish that looked interesting, but couldn't tell in pics really  how light they were.  Now that you say that I'll look into some.  I had an extremely hard time even looking between the brown acorn hillfire Neumok and the regular brown Neumok, looking at pics online, depending on which pics I looked at in some the regular brown looked lighter and in some the acorn hillfire looked lighter.  Ugh... frustrating.

I can still return these Neumoks, I've only really just tried them on, haven't worn them yet.  Kinda like the look, but not sure the leather will stretch/wear in and become comfortable for my little pinky toe.  It seems like it would stretch some, the leather feels damn soft.  Debating...

Barn weasels - I'd like your thoughts. I stumbled across some Independence Moras. They were seconds (bourbon color - any guesses what the defect was?) but are beautiful and a crazy bargain. I should also mention that I love the Indy leather and soles. The only problem is that they are 11E. The 108 is one of my better fitting lasts, but in 11D.

These shoes are actually not bad width-wise and are fine at the heel, but have too much volume, particularly above the ball of the foot. I'm hoping that I can take up the slack with carefully chosen insoles since these are so close to being right, but I'm concerned that I am reaching a bit here. Have any if you done something like this and had it work out well?

These are one-offs, so I don't have the option of getting quite the same thing in he right size. I could get regular calf Moras (at a higher price I should add) if I move soon. Thoughts?

Oh, you probably want pictures:

The tiger striping doesn't concern me at all. I actually like the look of the left toe and am comfortable that I can tame the right toe without much trouble.

My thanks in advance!

Rare Indy Moras
Beautiful but high volume,
Can I pull this off?

Edit: unfortunate haiku typo

Just picked up the second pair.  Love the second even more than the first!
