Durp. Casual leather streets confusing me. I'm really liking both the brown kudu and the navy cxl options on the Oak Street. Might need to pick up one or the other.

I really like the Academy in natural excel. May consider puchasing when the price goes down. The navy Oak Street would look much better if it had the black Dainite. Perhaps the red one will grow on me when I see them in person.

Their choices on what gets piping is interesting. Notice they included it on the Academy, but they've taken it off the Oak Street. I'm guessing because the Academy is considered a dress shoe, it got the piping. The new Boones also have removed the piping (but you can buy a few of the old ones on Ebay still). I'm trying not to obsess over this detail, and my black Carlyle's look fine without the old piping. I guess I just don't understand why they thought it would make the shoes more appealing to the eye.

Hey guys needed some advice on fit. I bought a pair of Ascher seconds in an 8 with a D width. My other AE shoes have all been in an 8D (Strand, PA, Mora 2, etc), which are a mix of first and seconds. The Aschers as you can see from the pictures bow out. Is that bad fit, meaning I need something not as wide as a D or does it mean that since they are a pair of seconds this could be one of the flaws? I haven't worn them yet and so I am probably going to return/exchange if possible. I plan to wear these sockless for the most part with shorts or pants that would end up showing the bowing. (sorry forgive the ashy feet)..haha
I could be wring but I think they look too tight across the instep. I would try an 8.5D. How is the space in front of your toes?

Man, it was only a month or two ago I mentioned that I'd love a Leeds in Natural Chromexcel -- the Academy isn't quite the same thing, but it's more than close enough for me. As soon as my size is available, that's going to be happening.

Also, the price on the sneakers is too good to pass up. Got a pair of the classic white on the way, even though I'm not a huge fan of the perforated treatment.

Edit: Didn't even notice the new Kudu option on the Oak Street. A Kudu wingtip would be tremendous. Maybe we'll be seeing a new McTavish for fall?

I have question for all of you. I am considering a boot for the fall. Dundee, Dalton or the Liverpool? Which is the most comfortable? Which is the best fit for a suit and tie?

I have the Cronmok and the Knightsbridge in black.

Shhh, don't get @M635Guy's hopes up!

Speaking of the McT, there is a "casual" wingtip on the way. Found out when I mentioned I lamented missing out on the Kiowa.

McT in Kudu? If it was reverse kudu, perhaps waxed, most def.

Can anyone tell me anything about this?
I've never see it before.
I know it's on the 108, but that's all I know.

A short-wing blucher, guys.... No comments about that?

Here is my most recent shell Dalton acquisition but how's it supposed to fit?

When I put them on unlaced if I scoot my foot to the up to the toe I can put my first two fingers inside, also if I scoot my heal back I have about as much room as a 1/2 thumb (nuckle to tip). I am concerned because I want the right fit and don't want them too small. How are they supposed to fit? These are very stiff due to the shell I am guessing. Do they break in? Like wearing cardboard shoes...LOL.:)

The toes feel fine, not squished or anything. There is a bit of free space in front of the toes. I could slide my feet forward and be able to fit my pinky behind my heel.

The Academy must have been the PTB my local SA told me about a few weeks ago. I love it! Already sold out in my size though.

It's a little hard to say; since most of my 65-last shoes are bals. I do have the Lexington, and I'd say the Boone fits similar through the waist but has more room in the toe box, as you suggest. It isn't a tremendous amount of room, I don't feel like I'm swimming in them, but they don't pinch the top of my feet where they crease like the Lexingtons sometimes do.

Not sure that's helpful; for what it's worth, they're an absolute steal at $139. For they'd drop the price on the brown or navy a bit more (say $195), I'd find it very difficult not to pick up another pair. The sole is incredibly comfortable, and the suede is pretty nice.

Thanks, that's helpful for describing the fit, maybe not so helpful for my wallet. ;)

I fit the same in everything 65. The only one that came close to being tight was my McTavish, which I chalked up to being bal + thicker rough leather, but it has broken in well. On the flip side, my suede McGregors might be a bit loose, as they start squeaking near the end of the day. How embarrassing. I'm convinced that's from the lining somehow, but haven't figured out how to conquer it yet. I would hate to pick up another suede shoe and end up with the same problem.
