Mine are gradually darkening with age, brushing, and Leather Lotion. I'm leary of putting creams or polishes on the CXL.

These would easily be my favorite pair of AE's that I own, in the looks department. Unfortunately, the poron insole makes them slightly too snug (I was sized with a regular model then ordered from the shoebank the BB model).

On my pair, the left shoe has awful creasing and the right has tiger striping. Are yours factory seconds, and if so, what is the defect? They look great.

If not seconds, then probably well worth the price.

I too am leary of that. What type of lotion should I go with?

it's ironic because my first choice for my next casual shoe was the Strandmok 2.0 in blue suede, precisely for this reason...the white works well on casual shoes...but then I started thinking that it would come too close to looking like a full fledge sneaker...so once the Newberg came out, as a dub-monk fan, I was thrilled until I learned that they mightve botched it up with a crepe sole...but at this point, I'm willing to take the risk, because I really like the rest of the shoe...but if I get it and can't get past the crepe, theyre going right back, in exchange for some variant of the strandmok.

Here's a couple of pics of my crepe soles. Please report back here when you receive the Newberg. I also like double monks and hope AE gets it right.

I've been using the Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion, but I would assume there are better ones out there.

But they may be a viable option for wide feet.

I'm hoping I can fit the EP trainer so I can get in on the radica calf preorder.

I tried the suede sneakers on yesterday at the Michigan Avenue store. They're only in full sizes and Ds, and I wear an 8.5EEE, so I tried on a 9D. The toe boxes weren't bad in terms of width, but the arch support was in the middle of the bottom of my foot. They also looked a bit like shapeless loaves of bread.

They didn't have the smooth leather sneakers in yet, but I don't hold out much hope for those based on the way the suede sneakers fit.

And, they're back.

Do you ever go to the LaSalle St. store? I always go there, but haven't been over to Mich. Ave. Is there much difference?

My understanding is that Neatsfoot oil will condition and darken them. It is the recommended care product for chromexcel by Nick Horween.

Are you charged restocking fee of you purchase over the phone from one outlet location and have the shoes shipped to you, but you return them yourself to a different outlet location?

Thanks

No restocking fee if returned to outlet in person
