Did you try an 12 or 11.5 E?  I've yet to try a shoe on the 1943.

Ok with a majority of my shoes being on the 65 last I'll try to help you out with how mine are sized. My ideal size for the 65 is 8.5EE though this size is often not available so I end up with 9E which is a little bit longer than optimal but its not a bad fit. For the Leidens (I have the weave ones) I tried on 8.5E 9D and 9E. For me 9E was the best fit. Hope this helps!

Does the side of your pinky toe/foot hurt?  That shoe looks likely stretched out and it looks like the pressure may have been bothersome for a few weeks.  This is my dilemma with the 65 last.

Got a gnarly raw spot on my Achilles' tendon from a run last night, so loafers got the call today. "Tendon-hurts-like-hell" Tuesday:

In the "asked and answered 100 times but I wasn't paying attention then, and don't know how to find the answer in this 1,000 page thread" category:

What do you all use for polish on Walnut? Is there any consensus on this subject? I have read enough that the AE Walnut polish turns the shoes orange. I've used Neutral, but that isn't putting any color into the leather.

I have been using a little neutral Saphir wax, but haven't used the polishes.

Do you use a separate polish cover to add some toe darkening? Or a separate wax color when adding shine?

Thanks in advance.

Little late on the response here but man those look awesome! Definitely putting those on the list for 2017.

I use Saphir neutral wax polish exclusively on walnut, and I've been happy with it, but my goal is NOT to add any color, just to keep the color as original as possible.

Quick question. I'm thinking very hard about pulling the trigger on those Club Monaco Leeds in Sand/Milkshake suede. I am also thinking about the (what I hope is) matching belt as it's on clearance. My question is do you think that will be too "funky" (for lack of a better term) of a look to have the lightish shoes and lightish belt? Would it be better or worse to wear one of my existing calfskin belts (e.g. Bourbon) with the shoes? What say you? Thanks!

Of course it's all a matter of personal preference, but I'd go with a solid-color belt. I think two-toned shoes and a two-toned belt would look too costumey.
