I also posted some pictures about 2 weeks ago on this thread if you want to check them out.

So my impression is they are great shoes. The suede was incredible... best I've ever seen (which they cite as the reason for being expensive as it is from some famous suede shop in Europe). They fit very similarly to the Kirkwood (which I also own and like), as they are basically the same shoe. A lot of people have complained about the price (which is high), but they are made of high quality suede, and are a beautiful shoe. Lot of people on this forum have spent much more on shoes they rarely wear... so if you think you'll put them to use, the price can be justified.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, i did see your review from about 2 weeks ago and i appreciate the review.  It's one of the very few i've seen online in regards to the Sea Island.

Living in Louisiana as i currently do, the warm months are quite humid and my feet tend to sweat quite a bit.  I'd like to have a shoe that i can wear sans socks, but am worried my foot will sweat too much.  I was just finishingup posting a question to the AE staff on their website in regards to how the shoe is made and if it helps to prevent the foot from sweating.  My guess is probably no, but i will see what they have to say.

I will probably pick up the light brown or blue pair next time I'm in an AE Store.  The shoes look great and i don't mind the $300 price point.  I will likely only wear them a couple times a month, so they should hold up so long as my feet don't sweat too badly.  In a perfect world the light tan or blue would show up on Shoebank and i could buy both pair!

Do you wear socks with yours or do you go sockless?

Just put a topy on them and you will not have to worry about a resole../.the heels can always be replaced

I am thinking of selling my Brown Shell Bayfield GMTO's in 13E.....If anyone is interested let me know -I will decide over the next week. I have a few other options in brown shell and the Bayfield I purchased to wear with thick socks...I lost weight and even with boots socks they are a touch large on me

Pic of them below

I was eyeing a pair in suede but thought is was ill-proportioned for a long wing. Perhaps the 'gunboat' is too firmly entrenched in my mind but I think a long wing needs some heft and bulk. The McGregor was just too dainty for my taste.

Everybody knows Obama wears Air Jordans, purchased on a Chicago street market.
Dude, where are you from? 1883? 1983? Hop back in your Delorean and join the current millennium. Can't believe this. Lemmeguess - "Trump For President"??? Guess you'll be first in line looking to subcontract for that wall that'll be coming in 2017...😖 argh. In less bigoted news:

MTO Eagle County in brown grain. I don't visit much anymore, but this guy ^ just had me scratching my head. And other stuff. That is all. (witnessing the bastardizing of the new AE thread...sad.)

The closest AE offering is the black cordovan Rutledge I saw posted recently. An insult to Chicago and well dressed gentlemen, danny boy! Can't remember the last "street market" I've seen in the Chi...selling shoes, nonetheless.

WTF?

Did you just have a stroke?

Keep childish rants like this off this thread please.  Especially if you're apparently so unfamiliar with humor.

Gentlemen..ahem...let's not drift off into irrelevant topics that deviate from the purpose of the thread. That being said, one may be wondering, "What shoes would the well dressed television actor "connected guy" wear? While binge (not bing) watching The Sopranos, I noticed the distinctive AE "V" on the heel of Ralph Cifaretto's shoes while meeting with Tony Soprano. Can't tell which shoe, but it looks similar to a suede Players. Sorry for the image quality, but its a screen grab from video.

Can I get some feedback on my left V gap? I wore these all day today and the right foot is perfect. I know the size is right as I was swimming in 10E McAllisters yesterday.

I don't want to overthink it, but will it loosen up and look more like the right side over time? Should I buy a shoe stretcher to loosen it up?

They look great to me. I would not recommend a stretch unless the shoe is not fitting your foot properly.

Thanks. The right is perfect, left is a little tight. I'll stretch it after a few wears if it's not caught up.

Loving the shoes though, length is perfect.

Looks like a captoe bal to me! Nice spotting there.

Can I brag? I picked up these Oxblood Strands yesterday with my McAllisters and they are quite possibly my favorite shoe in my wardrobe.

Changing topics:
February was a crazy month. I hadn't planned it, but somehow ended up purchasing five pairs.

Edit: I blame you all. You filthy barn weasels.
