I called, and they said the particular shoe I'm looking at looks great except for creasing on one shoe from try-ons. Might be worth a shot, although perhaps I should go with something like another Strand at a $100+ discount instead.

I forgot to mention that you can call the store and ask how it looks so good call on your part.

Creasing non issue if you like the shoe and it saves you $50 maybe worth a shot.

The sizes online are the sizes they have at their warehouse only. You should go to a local Nordstrom and they can check to see if they have your size at any other Nordstrom around the country. I've done it before with previous orders that don't show my size online.

I also just placed an order (to the US), and it seems to have gone through with no problem. With the favorable exchange rate, discount code, and free shipping, I should have a pair of first-quality Loake Strands for $184 total.

Did your order ship yet?  I placed mine on Monday and my card was charged, but on their site the status is still listed as Processing.

Agreed.

As seconds go my pair or McGregor's in Oxblood was a shoebank CCC second. SInce you can't just call the CCC and have them take a look at the shoes, based on the fact that I could return them and the fact that at the time these were normally $197 even on the shoebank and this pair was all the way down to $134 I decided to give it a shot.

When I received them my jaw dropped as the issue was the color on the throat just did not match between the 2 shoes (extremely noticeable), the one was clearly much darker than the other. Oddly what I found was the shoe that was much darker it just rubbed off with shoe cleaner and a little elbow grease.

I theorize that when they did the burnishing of the toe they somehow got something further up on the one shoe, didn't clean it, and it just failed QC for color. I think since it was so noticeable they marked them down an extra $65 but for me it was a good deal and worked out in the end.

As much as I was shocked when I opened the box for that price if the darkness could not have been removed I was thinking to just try some dark polish on the other to blend it to match.

In either case if it did not work out to my satisfaction I could have returned them but they are now one of the most comfortable shoes I have and Oxblood is one of my most favorite colors.

As is mine. Assuming they are swamped with orders, and possibly waiting for stock from Loake.

I know pediwear lists everything in stock on their website but sometimes have to wait for the shoe to ship from Loake before sending it off to the customer.

Has anyone tried the Cascade yet? I'm tempted with the RDA right now. The brown Strandmoks and Dark Chili Delray's are tempting as well even though I already have a chili Delray. And the Dark Chili Dalton.... Too many options!!
