Good evening, Gents. This is a picture of my Lake Shore Drives after my cat finished with them. I'm looking for a little positive reinforcement here. These shoes are still wearable, right? The damage can't be repaired, I realize. But I want to believe that with a good cleaning they would be presentable.

What's everyone think?

Well?
How did these turn out?

Thanks to everyone for their encouragement. I'm happy to report that the shoes look better than I thought they would, so as a result the cat's life is spared.

Again, thanks for the help, advice, and good humor!

Well, F you then @FaRKle! Why you gotta pee in my cordovan cheerios?! I kid, I kid... Agree with you and @ace13x about the chili edge dressing. I anticipate the color to lighten as well, which should reduce the contrast slightly. Black edges is what really turns me off to burgundy and bourbon offerings. In fact, its the reason I got rid of bourbon Daltons and started darkening a walnut pair.

I'll post some pics next week. Not sure if 10C will fit or not (have 9D Daltons that feel too short/narrow, tried 9.5B and they were way too narrow). I'm new to going up in length and down in width. Fingers crossed. Luckily they can go back. Or be shipped to one of my fellow FBWs.

Thanks for all those responses, really appreciate it.  I may pass, still trying to decide.  What really gets me is that there are some styles that have real design flaws - things like the Desoto/Concordia or Rialto, where there is something that really went wrong.  AE does an amazing job with CXL and kudu I have no doubt these things would be crazy comfortable.  I feel like they're hard to pass up just because of the look.
@MattRiv- totally with you on the acorn neumok.  Part of the benefit of being a 7D is I'll never come across a pair in the wild without some rigamarole special order.  If I did, I would probably pay cash in an instant.  With time to mull the purchase over, they would absolutely be redundant given 3 McTavish (one cognac), a red neumok and a green rush street.  Great shoes though - highly recommend those and the suede BB version.

I'm glad to see that these look so good.
Maybe the cat can come back in the house now!

Nice job, @Southwick! What did you end up using?
@Neo1, wise choice IMO. I've randomly being wearing McTs 2 of last 3 times I've been in retail store, so I was able to see them side by side. Black is obviously very redundant. And the orange was very close to the tan McT. I thought the demo gray was terrible (very very flat and cheap looking), but the SA was wearing a pair. Looked pretty sharp with denim.

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised. I wiped them down with a damp cloth, then washed them with Safir Suede Shampoo (Omnidaim), let them dry, and then applied several thin coats of the AE Premium Leather Conditioner and let them dry another couple of hours, and that was that!

I've had an unworn pair of McAllisters sitting on my shoe rack for the better part of 6 months now. I finally ordered some heel savers / caps / protectors / whatever you'd like to call them since I live in NYC and do a ton of walking. I want to put them on before the first wear but the nails that came with the caps seem outrageously long, possibly long enough to stick into the heel bed of the shoe sole. Has anyone else experience this issue? If so, any idea where I can order more realistic nails to finish the application?

I have the same briefcase. That's the double flap version. I love it and it has held up really well for me so far. I would expect the same from the messenger bags.

This illustrates something that a lot of people can't understand until they see it. Sure, they're not perfect anymore, but what a transformation! Try fixing the same damage on some corrected grain clarks!

Does anyone have any experience with the Road Warrior collection? Specifically the LGA. I've resisted purchasing a pair, primarily due to the Maddison XL sole, but I've been dealing with plantar faciatis for over a year now and have come to the realization that my AEs are not doing my feet any favors. Any input regarding their comfort compared to regular AEs would be much appreciated.

Hmm, I wear 9B in Dalton.... But I have already purchased 3 new boots this off-season and another one is on its way.

We had a t shirts in the department that said "imaginary engineer? Imagine me as your boss!"

I work in the automation field now and have moved to sales, but learning to think like an IE is the greatest gift an education could ever give.
