Looks like the Count may have also gone to see Dr. Strangelove as well. Interesting fact, that line was originally shot as "Dallas" and later "Vegas" was dubbed in for th released movie. This was felt to be just too soon after JFK had been shot in Dallas so they made the change.

Hey Everyone,

New member here. I've seen some great shots of your collections so far, thought I'd share mine. Got some great deals on them too:

- Black Park Aves ($269 firsts on Amazon)
- Walnut Strands ($239 seconds on Shoebank)
- Merlot McAllisters ($197 firsts on Amazon)
- AE Tan Suede Maritimes ($87 from AE Store in Natick, MA)

I'm sure this collection will grow quickly wink.gif

Those mcallisters look beautiful to me...not sure if there is a more overall perfect AE shoe than the Merlot Mcallister

On that day, I had wider pants on, more traditional than I usually wear, and they had a full break. So I wasn't even looking at the ankle area; it was covered up. 11C is incredibly comfortable for me in the 65 last.
[... ] and the most comfortable I felt was the 11.5 B. With both straps ALL the way tight, I also get barely any bowing so that's great.

I also Brannock an 10.5-11 C (with a 12.5-13 heel-to-ball), and I've found 11.5 B to be the most comfortable size for me in most lasts. I'm not completely flat-footed, but I'm pretty darn close. When I first started shopping AE, I didn't live anywhere near a store, so the first ~half-dozen pairs I bought were all 11 D. While they didn't bow as much as yours, I definitely had more room at the ankles than I should have; the 11.5 Bs I've gotten since then all fit and look much better. If you have an AE retail store nearby, it wouldn't be the worst idea to stop by and see if they have anything you could try on to see if it's worth considering for the future.

Welcome!  Prepare for your collection to double within 3 months if you keep hanging around here.

Out of curiosity, do you guys use heel savers? I live in NYC and do a lot of walking, have 3 pairs in rotation (with a fourth sitting on my shoe rack waiting to be worn for the first time) and have figured that my heels will last almost a year before needing replacement. I've started looking into way to combat the wear, although inevitable, long enough to get some extra miles out of the heels before needing replacement again.

No question about it.

I just picked up a pair of merlot mcallisters off the AE clearance, too bad they have limited sizes for the classic belt. I'll probably have to buy it for full price on amazon. It's a shame that they discontinued the merlot color confused.gif

Yes, they do work and are completely appropriate to combat your amount of walking. I suggest you apply them early before the heels wear down.

I thought I was the only one who watched that show. I actually laughed out loud when I read this.
