The ONE sole I think is outright TERRIBLE is what AE put on the Thousand Oaks.  The same, or similar, is on my grey Long Branch's, and its the worst.  Still love the boots enough to endure them.

You just love getting that Ridgeway into every conversation - your a true FBW....

I find it rather odd you say that about the Long Branch - I'm 100% on board with you.  I never wanted to admit to that until now.  It's like the weirdest thing, I'll get anything with the mini-lug almost immediately but one of the soles I hate the most is that lug from the Long Branch. I know tons of people here absolutely love it (and even recraft to get it) so I thought I was just some kind of weirdo.

Went by the store again tonight to look at the Neumok 2.0 - I'm torturing myself at this point trying to convince myself it's good and that I need it, but I'm just not there yet.  I called the lack of contrast stitching before you but you hit the nail on the head about the black, particularly its similarity to the black McTavish (which to me isn't a good thing).  Most annoyingly the color I like most for casual is red, and I really dislike the red here.

I'd get the CM Leeds.  They're harder to find on ShoeBank.  Nordstroms has sales all the time, and I feel the Acorns will be around for a while (and when they're not, they'll pop up on the Rack).

BTW, to me, the suede Leeds are what AE should have been putting out as bucks instead of the Boone, even if they had to slap a Vibram sole on them.

I could come up with two completely different responses to this - my logical response would be the exact same thing as you - Nordstroms has em at 199 all the time while I've never in my life seen a suede Leeds.  On top of that, I've always felt like the calf Leeds is a very "easy" fit, very standard features.

Absolutely based on personal preference, there was no way I'd ever get the Boone (I'm no suede buck guy), I always thought the Leeds was too boring, and I feel like the Leeds in suede would just limit its use too much.  On the other hand, I think the Neumok 1.0 was nothing short of outstanding.  The acorn is far and beyond the most practical color, meaning you could probably get sufficient use out of it beyond denim.  Plus they're 1sts at a really low price.

Nah...I gave em the slip. Well, there was this one guy.....

Did you see the McGraw is coming back?  Good one for you I think.

AE should have planned ahead and released a simple CXL belt that would pair nicely in style with the HM's, (something along the lines of the Cottonwood comes to mind).  Maybe they'll put something out soon and do a package deal.  Like for Christmas???

In the recent catalog they advertise the Central Ave belt as a match:

With the arrival of the Blue Neu's, I'm thinking about selling my Tan McT's.  I can't believe I'm saying that, but I'm already out of room with two more pairs coming in the next 3-4 months...  (Truman derbys in the next month or so, and some Aden longwings late this year or early next)

:(

I've had good luck in the past with a variety of shoes.
In general, I feel like Mizuno, Asics, and Saucony fit my narrow foot best. But it all depends on the shoe. I've had Nike, New Balance, and even Brooks shoes that have worked well. I have the problem of there being no half-sizes in my size range. (I wear a 14 in my running shoes.). So I usually have to try on several styles to find the best fit.
I used to go through several pairs a year, when I was running marathons and 50Ks. I've dropped my mileage quite a bit the last couple of years though.

I got the Sunriver in natty when I got my HM's. But with a call to the CAC I was able to snag a Humboldt Ave in my size. The Humboldt is a perfect match; I sent the Sunriver back

Speaking of boots...

Does anyone have any tricks for keeping the tongue straight?

I assume it's due to my gait, but the tongue on both boots works it's way to the outside of my ankle after a few steps.

Agree with this. I have Sun River and Humbolt in Golden Brown. The difference between them is crazy. They should've dumped the Sun River, not the Humbolt.

If I wore your size, I would consider the Allen Edmonds-for-J.Press Atlantis in brown grain, which are now selling for $197 on the shoebank.  I know you already have a lot of wingtips, but I dig that style and it was never available in my size.

Also, for what its worth, the McTavish is available in your size and probably fills a role similar to the Nordstrom shoe. It would be yet ANOTHER wingtip, but its $97, and the same sort of dressy style/casual material combination that people on this forum seem to love.

I believe the Leeds are lined, but I am not 100% sure. Assumption is yes since they are being sold by CM as dress shoes.

Has everyone made their list for RDA in October?

As much as I didn't want to buy yet another pair of shoes (this is my 9th pair of AE, most of them in the last year), I'm pretty excited about these...

Congrats!  I love mine!

It is a preselected offer.  It does not go to everyone.  If you have purchased AE on that card you may not get it.

Black Grayson. I know it's boring, but I was burned on seconds several times, and I've been waiting on RDA for them since last year. I may also look at the blue suede Achesons, but the priority will be the Graysons

+20 to you sir. Boot is a redwing, it's impossible to tell but has a full commando lug, and my split toe Bostonians are very flattered! Great beater shoe these days, got them in college and they still work awesome as a winter shoe and when traveling.
