Could anybody post a photo of brown Bartletts in the wild? Their leather appears to be closer in color to the dark chocolate calf used on Dalton boots. Can anybody confirm that?

Pretty dead here today.

What are your opinions on suede waterproofing sprays? Not that I have any intention of exposing my suede shoes to water, but are the sprays a good insurance policy or do they adversely affect the appearance of the shoe or otherwise do any harm?  I see AE sells one in the shoe care section of their website. Is that one any good or is there a particular brand that's recommended? Thanks.

Just got my Alumnus in. Wearing around the office. You can see the two "dents/lines" in the toe area. Fitwise they feel really good (9EEE). Debating if they're too blobby. Hard to find non-blobs in a EEE though.

I was about to post the exact same thing about the activity here today. On the waterproofing spray, I've used the Kiwi stuff on my suede Strands and Cavanaughs with no ill effect. It slightly darkened the shoe while it was drying, but it lightened back up.

Sorry guys, my maritimes still haven't arrived, so that's why it's so dead here.  Rockin' my oxblood PA's with new blue laces.

I think I'm heading back to the NR that's on my route home to pick up the shoe trees that I should have purchased on Friday. It's bugging me that I have two more pairs of shoes than shoe trees. That last pair of shoes put the hurt on my slush fund, so I'm going to have to cut a few corners in the shoe tree and belt departments. Hopefully, I don't get distracted by other things while I'm in there.

+ 1 on @St Hubbins comment. I used the Terrago Nano spray and it did slightly darken the area until it completely dried. I saw no difference afterwards. Does it work? It does for me. Here is a video from Leffot about the spray. Leffot sells Alden shoes in NYC. I have no experience with the other spray products.

I guess everyone's resting up after the sales just finished. Building up strength for the Rediscover America sale probably.

Holy bleep it looks like that stuff works pretty well. Thanks for the tip. That convincing video moved that particular product to the top of the list of candidates.

I've used this stuff on my suede bucks and I have to say it works very well.  Water beads right up.

The Kiwi spray I use does the same thing. I wouldn't necessarily go jumping in puddles with them, but it was pretty entertaining to run a stream of water over the toecap

Hopefully my HM's will come in this week- other than that, I'm waiting for RDA (and the Graysons I've been wanting for the past year...)

My shoe budget for the rest of September went to buying Mrs OF a Kate Spade purse as my debt to society for drunkenly sleeping on a staircase last month...

Was it at least your staircase?

Take it from a lawyer: if it was your staircase then it was a misdemeanor at best. You might have gotten off entirely in a more defendant-friendly jurisdiction.

NR report. Cruised through shoes up to size 12. Found the following...

Player's Shoe size 10.5E in a very light suede. Kind of roughed up. $170.

Another Player's Shoe in what I believe is Sand Suede. Size 11D. Seconds mark on the bottom. No laces. $170.

I doubt these would be of interest to anyone, but this is my report.
