@orange fury is the bourbon king.  His McAllisters look even better than the Strands.

I'm pretty sure they were $199.  I can't remember for sure, but think I  got my seconds for $139.  Maybe they didn't like the way the dye came out, but I can't find and real faults with them.

I can't wait for the holiday season - I'm going to rock the crap out of these.  This will be a shoe-purchase surprise my wife will actually like (I think...  I hope...)

I misread your post initially. I thought it said "my surprise wife"

Did you go with the same as you wear in the 65?

My brannock is 8E. 8E in the 65 can work for me but it is a tad tight and long so 7.5EE is my 65. I went with 8E for the Higgins Mills.

Thanks!

I'll be in the US next week, so I'll have them bring in my 65 size (9E) and my brannock size (9.5D) for comparison

Ah - I've been to that YYM's (San Felipe, no?) many times.  Don't work in that area of town anymore.

I liked it a lot.  Took my wife once.  She got sick... and haven't been since.  Gotta keep her happy.

Never been to Garbonzo though - if you haven't tried Zabak's... it's worth the schlep.

Depends on the denomination.

If unsure, you can't go wrong playing it safe and going with the conservative look.

Been looking for a pair of dressy boots that can be worn casually or for work in the bad weather.  Just snagged a pair of Brown Country Grain First Aves with Dainite soles on the 'Bay for $197.50.  Not bad with a list price of $445.  I didn't think to ask whether they were seconds (seller just listed them as brand new with box and the photos were stock photos), but even so, seconds on Shoebank are going for $349.

I'm going for a simple look. I wanted to see if colorful socks can keep it from being to simple or should I just make it simple overall. I'll be wearing a Navy blazer, grey trousers, white dress shirt, white pocket square, and navy/light blue tie. With shoes I'm stuck between the Cornwallis in brown or my new McAllisters in merlot.

Saw the Stuttgart on Hautelook. Any info on the last and general opinions on the style? Perhaps compared to the Madison Park?
TIA for the help.

I sent in my original pair in because they were too tight in boot socks for my liking. However the new boots sent to me appear to be second quality. Dents and tears in the storm welt and puckering on the left toe (too tight pulling on upper to welt?)
