Q: "Aren't those two pair of brown shoes exactly the same?"

LOL.

My wife gives me that same type of answer all the time.

I haven't even worn my Higgins Mill Boots out yet and I think they're already my favorite boots lol. I can't wait until the weather cools down so I can wear them. I think I'll buy one more pair of shoes during the RDA Sale and take a break from shoe shopping because I already bought a lot of shoes this year 😅

Thanks for the photo - mine are supposed to be here Friday. I'm glad you got the brown so I can see a real world photo. Your photo confirms I'm going to like this boot.

PSA

Shoebank.com shell prices are down to $399,

and this may overlap with Palo Alto grand opening 15% discount,

i.e., $340, shipped to you.

I bought my first AEs (Long Branches on eBay) almost 3 years ago.  My first shell was from a 2 for $250 sale and prices have risen and stiffened ever since.

Bottom line, is if you wait, shell prices and opportunities tend to just keep getting more expensive, regardless of the reason or explanation for that.

Only some of the shell models are marked down to $399. As of right now, shell Daltons, MacNeils, and Randolphs are still $579 / $529. There are a few other random discounts (Indy line down to $299, Mcallisters, PAs, and Strands to $229, Cornwallis, Fifth Aves, and Graysons at $199, and Brooks models at $149).

Interesting,

all of the size 15d shell items (macneil, leeds, Dundee, randolph, park ave) are at $399 and yes, there are more items price dropped than I had noticed on first pass. :)

Maybe we just caught them in the middle of updating the site. I just checked again, and in size 8.5d, the shell Daltons, Macneils, and Randolphs are still at the higher prices.

Good deal if you need those Kenilworths now. They'll probably go on sale by AE at low to mid 200s in the next year. After a while, 2nds will start showing up at the shoebank. Eventually they'll hit sub 200 at the shoebank.

BTW, I wore my burgundy shell Daltons today:

Are these brown or natural? I assumed they were brown (as I think Chris did also) but the light laces has me thinking they are just a darker natty. Unless they are shipping the brown with lighter laces, despite AEs reply in the Ask & Answer section.

It is odd. I was interested in the Macniels and they are on sale in black but not color 8. The only shoe I'd get in black shell is a PA at this point.

Does anyone know if the Palo Alto store is offering 15% still or is that done?

The walnut McAllister was my introduction to Allen Edmonds- I first saw it when I was in college, and thought it was the most beautiful shoe I had ever seen. I still don't own one, but I have walnut McClains and bourbon McAllisters, so I'm happy. Some day I'll buy walnut McAllisters, just for the nostalgia factor.

My first pair of AE's were black Boardrooms, via a friend who was a manager at a Jos A Bank (he gave me discounts that, in retrospect, he probably wasn't authorized to give). I quickly bought the bourbon Mora 2.0 (via shoebank), the walnut McClain (via JAB with discounts), and the burgundy Nathan (via JAB with discounts) to give me a full rotation for work. At that point, the big had fully bitten, and the result is my signature below lol

@Hayseeds & @coolarrow, those shell daltons look AMAZING! I am super shell-ous.

"Just calf" Daltons and khaki slacks today. Haven't worn these pants (Banana tailored slim) in over a year and now they seem like bell bottoms. Funny, not too long ago these seemed on the slim side of my wardrobe. How things evolve...

Glad to see some of the shell on sale. It costs more but does last for years. To that point, shell Fairgates today. I added the eyelets and changed the edge.

I just bought a pair of Brooks Fifth Avenues at the non-sale price. Is there any way to get a price adjustment?
