I know that 250 is really not a bad price at all.  But... I've been a bit spoiled by my recent Ebay transactions.  Paid $85 for a brand new pair of Park Aves and paid $90 for a new black Carlyle.  I know this is not what anyone should expect to pay for new AE shoes.  But once you get used to that, it's hard to go back to paying over $200 for AE shoes.   I assume that if the Academy is closed-out, it will eventually be $157 or so.

Also, on the topic of the new Union shoes -- I really like the colors, but once I saw that the custom sole was not available, I lost interest.

Why those aren't (A) done for every single shoe and (B) linked-to or posted-on the product page I can't figure out.  Those are nicely shot, and far better than what they have on the product page.

I really like the content on the Discover page - they just need to make it more discoverable...

I wish I'd seen the Thousand Oaks coming - I'd put a custom V-tread sole on them, but they would have probably have been an option instead of the Alden Tobacco Chamois longwings I'm on pre-order for.  That was late May, so just bad timing.  I'm looking forward to the shoes, but would happily have saved the $$$ with the Thousand Oaks...

I know exactly what you mean lol. I just barley bought a pair of Odenwalds for $150 and a pair of Aschers for $199. I've also been eyeing a pair of Rush Streets for $137. So I'm also getting used to paying under $200. In a way that's kind of a good thing. Saves money. Like they say in The Tortoise and The Hare "Slow and steady wins the race."

Has anyone figured out how to get the Tanger Outlets 20% off discount yet?

I'm thinking either:
HM in natty and Academy in black
or
HM in black and Academy in Natty

I have a decent collection of brown shades already, although none in casual boots or any boots for that matter.

I think you are on to something here. Now I'm leaning toward the black HM and natty Academy.

While we are on the topic of purchasing AE shoes on eBay, has anyone purchased from dabondo1?  He lists hundreds of AE's.  They are all marked with "no warranty".  Some of them are new with defects others are used.  Where does he get them?  I wonder if AE sources all of their warranty returns and factory thirds quality shoes for him to sell.

+1. Seems like the club, or whatever the membership is called, at $10 would be +EV. I would just love confirmation that joining does in fact give you the coupon and it works on sale items.

Went outside today and found the first leaves of fall in LA. That means it may rain again in four months.

Warning: Non AE content and leaves. (Click to show)

I received an email with the code a few weeks ago.  I believe it was running for maybe the first three weeks in August (and I think expired yesterday).  It did not have anything to do with purchasing any type of coupon book.  It seems it was just due to me being on their email list.  Not sure if you had to be signed up already prior to them emailing the codes out a few weeks ago.

I'm looking to expand my collection of burgundy (or burgundy-adjacent) shoes beyond the oxblood strand, to fill in the cap between my black oxfords and brown bluchers.  Would dark chili longwings be a versatile second pair in that color range?

Warning.... non AE content ahead....

What about shell long wings?  Or possibly Merlot (basically burg) McAllisters that are on clearance right now.

+1. I have never seen him turn down any semi reasonable offer and he accepts returns without any issue.
