Seems like you have to buy from places like Pediwear or Herring and cross your fingers big time. This has kept me from trying anything English. I'd love to have a shoe by as many of the English names as I could afford, but I will probably wait to see if the occasion arises where I am in England and can try things on prior to purchase. If that happens, I'm going with a suitcase that will be filled with currency on the way there and shoes on the way back.

I plan to buy a pair from the main countries that I visit.

In Madrid I picked up a pair of Meermins to cover Spain, but had I known better at the time it might've been Carmina.  Regardless, what I paid for those Meermins was great value with the euro at 1.1.

@smfdoc 100% had the same questions as you on the 1000 oaks. I'm a lug sole guy all the way.

Btw - wtf with the sequoia? It came out last year straight to shoebank and now it's back?

Haven't really seen these discussed here, but I recently picked up these Malverns from eBay that as far as I can tell have only been worn outside a couple of times for $41.

I know next to nothing about this model, but the country grain uppers and dainite sole should provide an excellent shoe for wet weather in the fall/winter. Very happy with these.

Nice pick up!
I've got a pair just like those.

Another Rothsay-ish boot is added too (Cascade).

Last week, I visited the flagship Nordstrom in Seattle, and they carried several John Lobb models, although, to my eye, they did not appear to be discounted.

AE releasing a shoe that goes straight to the shoebank is the fashion equivalent of a new movie bypassing the theaters and going straight to Netflix.

Barneys. Ships and returns free. Branches in multiple cities.

Mr. Porter also does free returns. They carry Lobb, Trickers, and others.

Lots of choices in NYC if you live here. Moulded Shoe, CitiShoes, Bloomigdales, Saks, etc.

SkyValet in DC. I'm sure there are many others.

JCrew sells Alfred Sargeant.

CJ and Lobb both have storefronts in NYC. Church's too.

Also plenty pairs to be found on the bay. Good way to test out sizing if you can't access a BM. Also Reddit Goodyearwelt group.

Apparently I only wear brown loafers with these burgundy chinos. Graysons for dinner tonight

I was looking forward to an AE entry of an austerity wingtip / brogue. Disappointed in the two color choices offered. Hopefully we'll seem some addional color offerings down the road.

If the back of my heel is sore, does that mean it's slipping around? I believe so, but looking for confirmation. Damn you, righty!!

Very nice!  Looks like the fall collection is rolling out.  I like the Navy Strand Suede and the Acheson Navy Suede.  I'd have to see the others.

Great shoes and a great airline (last week's snafu notwithstanding).... Merlot McCallister at the Delta Flight Museum.

In my experience, yes.  Usually that means the sole/heel isn't broken in.
