Anyone have recommendations for fighting blucher squeaks? I've dug around the forum and read that putting talcum powder where the leather of the flaps and the tongue rub helps, but that seems ridiculous to do every single time I wear my shoes.
I've worn my Delrays 4-5 times now and polished/conditioned them after their first wear hoping the squeaking would subside, but no such luck. Maybe it'll ease up after they're further broken in? I hate squeaky shoes, it makes them sound cheap IMO and is a little embarrassing in the office, but I love every other thing about these shoes.
Sometimes wearing different socks or tying your laces differently can help. Sometimes loosening up the laces so they are less tight can help. I find my Lasalles do squeak on occasion, but I can usually get rid of it by adjusting the laces. I'd give them more time - the squeaking could go away after you wear them longer.
