I got mine in my normal size, and they were tight. Like, couldn't even have worn a thin sock. They felt OK without socks, but after wearing awhile they destroyed my Achilles where the shoe hit my leg. They've loosened up since, but still wreck that area when worn sockless (or no-shows) unless I remember to put on a bandaid. I was hoping they'd mellow out, but maybe I just have weak flesh.

In re: my big toe, it's pretty close to the end, but it feels right when on.

Three for me - only regret is that I don't have the gray so I could be twinsies with Pep.

You do this to yourself, honestly.  Makes my job a lot easier.

I thought I'd share something stupid I did a few weeks ago.  I was about to apply some walnut polish to my Leeds, when I squeezed the tube a little too hard and a huge blob squirted out onto the toe area of one of my shoes.  I almost immediately wiped it off, but the walnut polish was very potent and left a somewhat large wet mark on the shoe.   When they finally dried, the mark was still there.  I applied some conditioner/cleaner on the spot and it stripped off a lot of the original color.  The end result was that now one of my shoes had this ugly bright spot on the shoe.  I felt like I had ruined them and of course was saddened and pissed off at myself.  However, after several days of gently applying some dark brown and walnut polish, they look almost good as new again.    You can't really tell that the spot is even there, but you can see a very slight mismatch between the shoes.   What's the point of this story?  Be careful with your polish, I warn everyone.  Learn from my rookie mistake.

Yes, the AE Conditioner/Cleaner definitely removes old shoe polish.  Since so many AE shoes come burnished (which is nothing more than a different color polish than the shoe color) from the factory, AE really should add a warning label to the Conditioner/Cleaner about this.

Does anyone have any photos of the color 'Dark Chili Burnished'? Specifically for the strands but that doesnt matter. Just curious how the color comes through.

Just a heads up my soon to be wife said no to my merlot strands for my wedding day. And the Park aves in burnished brown were too dark and simply a bit boring. So now I get to research some more!

Those look great! Are those burnished or no? Burnished will just be more matte correct?

Perhaps suggest some bicycle shoes like the ORD, and then she'll be begging you to wear the merlot Strands.  Seriously, stand up for yourself man!  It's your wedding day too.  :)

Grab this one off the Shoebank and take it to a local cobbler. He should be able to shorten it for you for under $20.
