On a related note, tomorrow is my daughter's baptism.  I will be wearing a navy suit, and am planning on wearing my walnut Cornwallis.  Part of me really wants to actually strap on the C&J/BB tan/white spectator longwings I have in my avatar just to spice things up, but that might be a bit too flashy.

I think I'd save the spectators for a more casual suit like linen, seersucker, etc. and best wishes on the happy event!

I have the Strand in the best color known to man...starts with an o.  You do need a McAllister though. When my next walnut shoe is bought, it'll probably be Lake Bluff, Leiden Weave, or...the Bartlett.  Odds are heavily in favor of the Bartlett if you're a betting man.

I'm in need of a good year welted bike shoe. Happy Saturday, top ten summer day here in the twin cities.

In case anyone is interested, doc says they gotta go - all 8 pairs of 65 lasted shoes plus the Dundees (those just don't fit me right).

Not sure if anyone noticed but the Linen Carlyles are on sale for $173 at checkout from brooks brothers. I wish I could wear standard width...

I would just keep them. Nordstrom has an amazing return/exchange policy. They'll gladly exchange the shoes if they turn out to be a defective pair. I bought a pair of black Park Avenues on last year's Anniversary Sale. 9 monthes after I bought them, they turned out to be a defective pair and they gave me a brand new pair. You have nothing to lose...

So I ended up with an most-new pair of mismatched old-school Lexingtons in a 10.5 E and 12 E.  I got them for free.  What should I do with them?

Dissect them! For scientific purposes.

Pretty sure AE partnered with this organization recently, too.

Those look great! I have a pair of walnut Rogues from the Shoebank that could use a similar treatment. They were slightly mismatched to start, and then I neglected to wear my work boots when I should have...

What did you use?

Thanks,
Tom

My loving wife got me a gift card to AE that will easily get me 2 pairs of shoes (maybe 3 at shoe bank).  I was hoping to solicit some ideas to round out my closet.  I have some others but won't list them as they don't get much wear (old, poor quality)

Here's what I have:

Black PA

Brown burnished PA

Walnut Strands

Bourbon Dalton

Normal work attire is a very relaxed back business casual.  I only wear suits 5-10 times a year for various events.

Suggestions?

Thanks! Basically a series of alternating light coats of neutral, chili, Bob's Chili (all from AE), and cognac and navy (from meltonian).

Check post #8657 for more info.

I would get the Merlot McAllister firsts at the $197 price, and would probably add a loafer
