Check eBay. They show up there fairly often for good prices In standard sizes/widths. I just got mine from there a few months ago.

Solid choice gents. No idea why I was thinking walnut. No one wants to be "that guy" at a reception.

That's a great match, however I don't think either one would have been any more or less flashy than the other especially if your McAllisters are the darker Walnut that seems to be common these days. What's the whole outfit look like?

Merlot Mcallisters came in and are gorgeous. Except some black gunk was on one shoe that ate away at the coloring. Instead of dealing with exchanging, would some Merlot polish fix this?

Agree.

On a related note, tomorrow is my daughter's baptism.  I will be wearing a navy suit, and am planning on wearing my walnut Cornwallis.  Part of me really wants to actually strap on the C&J/BB tan/white spectator longwings I have in my avatar just to spice things up, but that might be a bit too flashy.

Well that would depend on the denomination. I would go with the walnut and matching belt.

I'm very picky so I'd return them. Why be unhappy?

Wow, those ended up looking a lot more dirty and rough than I would have thought.  Not a bad look, but just not what I expected.

Don't forget that the official AE Ebay account is selling the old Boones in sand for $139.   I think they have a different, softer sole though than the more recent ones.  I'm passing since I don't like really soft soles.

It's Catholic, FWIW.  I can't say my wife or I are "serious" Catholics, but both were raised as such.

I'm almost certainly going with walnut and matching belt.

I always here about BCF having AEs on here but any one I've ever been to never has more than a CK shiny black Oxford. I usually have a better chance of leaving without my pair of AEs i wore in and my wallet than buying new anything.
