First order with Suit Supply and impressed with the speed and level of service.
Put it in the order last Tuesday morning. Suit arrived two days later via ups on Thursday arvo. Needed the next size up. Discussed with their online help desk and UPS picked the suit up the next day.
Arrived back in Netherlands Tuesday and I received the new suit Friday morning. Took it to the local tailor for alterations which came up to $80. So all up $680.
I think their blue line $399 offerings are a real bargain for the cloth and degree of detail provided(real button holes etc) but their purple offerings are also attractive with nicer cloth options(wool/cashmere, 130s wool from good Italian mills). Their outerwear range also looks like good value,
With their free delivery and returns .... once you get you sizing sorted it works out cheaper than most local MTM options taking into account their cloth options.
The main snag I can see for some is if the sleeve length require significant shortening that can work out very expensive because the working button holes require alteration at the shoulder level.
You can, if you fit the sizing they offer. Suit Supply carries full size runs of both short and long in addition to the regular fittings though.
I find MJ bale very limited - you're stuck with skinny, wimpy lapels.
i like SS because there's a big range of blocks for different body types/looks. As well as great textures.
MJ Bale has long and short sizes.
$200+ extra for a suit you've never tried on?
MJ Bale make good stuff but SS's range is much better curated. They also offer(on paper) much better cloth options. I often wade through lots of stuff both online and in store with MJ Bale to find something that I like. Having said that one of my favourite suits is a MJ Bale Lora Piana 150s suit that was going for $399 in a Xmas sale.
SS do a pretty job to make shopping with them as customer friendly as possible. Good pictures on their easy to surf around website, pricing in oz dollars, super quick delivery, and free no questions asked return policy. Pricing is also fairly consistent.. I don't have to worry that it would go on sale next week. One of my bugbears with retail in Oz ... how we get sensitised to wait for sales to make that purchase.
The cashmere wool suit that I picked up for $599 has a lovely slubby look to it yet it is smooth as you would expect from cashmere. Not something I have seen in MJ Bale or any local OTR shop in Oz.
