Yes, entirely by hand. OK, he uses some pedal-operated machines which were already in existence 100 years ago.

Incredibly, Daniel Roth (the maker of the above watch) also made the dial and even the case. Well, that's what I was told.

The only parts of this watch that did not come from his own handwork would have been the sapphire crystals (front and back) and the strap.

Interestingly, this extraordinary watch is now owned by an Australian. The photography is mine.

Just had to convince the bartender that I'm actually over eighteen.

I would have thought the dress sense of a 48YO onto his third wife(who is younger than his eldest child) would have given it away.

Cox, I think that the Fairfax press did report it recently.

The story, if I remember correctly, is that whilst still in opposition, Stuart Robert hosted a meal for the same millionaire friend whom he later accompanied to China, and a Chinese billionaire was invited to the meal, along with a few other politicians.

During the proceedings, the Chinese billionaire apparently produced a plastic bag, from he pulled out a handful of gold Rolex watches, that he then proceeded to distribute to those present. Robert and others apparently thought that they were fake but they have stated that they did declare them. Then, once someone realised that they were genuine, they decided to return them - but they gave them back to the Australian mining millionaire (the mate of Stuart Robert), not to the Chinese billionaire, as the billionaire had disappeared as a result of Xi Jinping's crackdown on corruption (and/or opposition to Xi Jinping personally).

Yeah, just to clarify, I can buy the watch tomorrow no worries and the missus wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Point was more that there's the inbuilt working class default which is you have a list of priorities and no matter that you have the means you tend to tick things off in a sequence, or at least I do.

Seriously, though, I think that it's just good sense - concealment and deceit aren't good in a simple friendship, let alone in a marriage that is supposed to be between equals.

It's not about concealing. But rather be independent financially. Do your 50% shares or even 100% if your salary allows you. What ever you agree with your partner. The rest is your foff money. Do what ever with the rest without feeling guilty. That's what I meant. After you pay your share of the bills (could even be the 100% of the house hold expenses+ your join saving goal ) rest is your pocket money. I openly admit that me and my wife have our independent finance. And my wife openly admits how supportive it allows me to be. I can understand this may not work if you have children.

I have 2 weeks ago and arrived exactly on the 7th calendar day.
