Damned alcohol limits! I was going to buy one of these 4L bottles of well-aged whisky in Japan but then realised that I'd have to drink almost half of it before I could take it onto the plane!

The way PJ's suit prices are going, no wonder he has to insider trade.

Ballsy wearing patch pockets to a court appearance, but I guess sprezz comes first.

Well, Roxy wore leather, so...

Depends what it is too - you can say - get some shoes Loakes, shipped from Pediwear/Herring etc to a friend in UK FREE then they can ship them as a gift to you in Oz - GST free. But in that case you will pay UK VAT - which is higher than oz GST

I've had to pay duty, and GST for a pair of shoes from the US.

Civic around 12.30pm at the 200 stop Grey Suit White Shirt Blue Grenadine tie (HC?) White Pocket Square and Black Oxfords. Own up?

Not your average APS look I have to admit.

Did they go up in price?

I checked their FAQ and the prices that were briefly there are gone.

I recently (2 months ago) bought some stuff off them, and no prices have not really gone up.

Selection has expanded though - markedly, and quality is IMO better now from their Italian factory as opposed to the old Dutch one.

Interesting piece about DJ's in todays SMHhttp://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/celebrity/private-sydney/ps-fashion-icon-out-the-door-at-david-jones-20160525-gp3a2b.html makes me cringe thinking what is going to happen to the Castlereigh St Store when its sold.

While service and clothing options have gone down hill the sales at time have produced some memorable items for my wardrobe.

Yes - great shame. I was in the Food Hall just the other day. It's beautiful, and seems to have been quite recently renovated. Seems crazy to me that they would piss all of that history and goodwill, not to mention expensive fit-out, up against a wall.

Doubtless though, some faceless South African CEO is going to make a fortune for himself with stock options and bonuses as a result.

Off with wifey to the Italian National Ball at Sheraton on the Park tonight, as guests of Canali. My first black-tie event for many years (other than ones where I have a cello between my knees).

Oddly enough, my tux is labelled "Canali", but the good folks at the boutique have scoped it out and pronounced it a fake. Firstly, it has "Made in Australia" printed on the inside-pocket tag; secondly, the fabric is a wool-polyester blend; thirdly, it's just not in the Canali house style. Although it is rather nice despite all that. I bought it at least fifteen years ago from one of the larger Melbourne stores - Myer? DJs? or perhaps a menswear store - I can no longer recall. Seem to recollect that it wasn't cheap, either. How about that.

Wifey will be resplendent in a gold sequinned Art Deco-inspired ballgown from New York. She looks dead sexy in it. Will make a nice change from her favoured black jeans and Converse memory-foam sneakers.

We're hoping to find ourselves sitting next to well-known Canali habitué Mac the Turnbull. Somehow I doubt he'll show, though, what with elections and all. Might have to settle for John Hewson instead.

I've seen those occasionally in the op shops and wondered where they sprang from. I also saw a "Made in Australia" Brioni recently, with what looked like real Brioni lining, which gave me pause.

Hi everyone, does anyone know what Dormeuil fabric line does Oscar Hunt offer as its cheapest. Is it the Iconik line.
